You are definitely not the only one who thinks the live version of shopper is way better than studio version. When IU sang this song on the very first day of her world tour. The audience was so surprised that they chanted for once more. And our IU performed this song again for her beloved uaenas.

I think with IU there are several things that made the live version so much better. You can feel her emotion and expression directly while singing. IU tends to show more power in her voice, very apparent for the upbeat songs. Also IU & team altered the music arrangement to better suit a live band & stage. And lastly, her interaction with fans is elevating the atmosphere.
