Ashley thanks for another great video. I’m surprised you didn’t mention anything regarding tank tops. Do you have any advice for that? I am fine with tank tops but the string tank tops look really tacky in my opinion.
Remember Kings going to the gym is about self improvement wear what you got to make sure you feel comfortable to go in. Also the examples for outfits look more for those wanting to go for a run not lift weight and shoes with more room in the toe box will be better for you in the long run (forget the chucks)
Facts, Bodybuilders will skip all these recommendations. I think this video is more for gentlemen who are fitness type or newbie gym goers not bodybuilders or powerlifters
Can someone tell me the point of wearing hoodies and sweaters in the gym when working out?? I think the idea is to wear less as possible so as to not heat up
Yeah, I don't get it either. I get really itchy when I dress too warmly while working out. I guess a lightweight hoody in a performance fabric may be OK though.
It's psychological. I love wearing Hoodies in the gym, it's isolating, and keeps you focused on growing what's under and not caring about being in the mirror flexing. It takes serious mindset. You might realize one day.
Lol nice try. Maybe on the way to the gym. In the gym you are there to work that means a tank top shorts and sweating. These suggestions are poser clothes in a real gym
Great video and helpful advice for the once looking to look good in the gym. I personally almost always for for Under Armour because I love their quality…but I absolutely do not agree with your “no white socks” rule, utterly ridiculous to be honest. And on that note I make sure my clothes are comfortable, clean and serves the right purpose for my intended workout other than that I don’t care how I look. I go the gym to train not to look good 😺
Starting footwear first. Squat shoes are essential and used for all lifts. When Squatting which is on all gym days 7mm knee sleeves are always worn they need to be able to go under joggers or over leggings, for dead lift days dead lift socks are essential as I like my shins in one piece. Compression leggings don't require shorts over them as long as you have decent sports underwear (Kapow Meggings are designed for the male anatomy without modesty shorts as long as you wear underwear, Matador Meggings are designed to be worn commando without being obscene (but are not quite robust enough for heaving lifting). Medium weight cotton T shirt is fine for a top. Also remember that with gym chalk your clothing is going to be stained with chalk very quickly. Joggers are OK provided they have full range of motion for squat and dead-lift. Functionality and durability are key, style is irrelevant.
Completely get Ash's hatred of white socks. However, the advantage of being able to bleach them - especially after workouts - far outweighs looking unfashionable. Besides, white socks are the least of my problems at the gym!🤣😭
Especially with Light Grey Joggers, Black Socks look weird to me. If I’m wearing Shorts I wear no-show socks anyway, but if I’m wearing grey joggers white socks look much better.
Why mention Goggins if you can’t even pronounce his name right ? Its like she’s using him to get our attention but doesn’t even pronounce his simple last name right. It’s not even funny.
First of all: real men don't go to the gym. Gym is for clowns. The human body is designed for leg-work, the torso is underdeveloped by nature. Keep it that way. So the best workout humans can get, is bicycle commute. So if your work is more than 20km away, change jobs. Go Amsterdam or København, and see it for yourself. Everybody is fit except for real estate agents in Tesla's.
0:22 - Sweat doesn't smell, it's the bacteria that grows in sweat that gives off odour. You just need to shower regularly. 0:50 - Wear whatever colour socks you want. You should be washing them after each workout anyway. 2:12 - We don't need to dress in any particular way for women. Gym clothing should be comfortable and functional. 2:22 - It's absolutely not a requirement to wear shorts over tights, and nobody is going to get banned from a gym for not doing so. 4:13 - The last think you should be worrying about in the gym is your hair. You are there to do one job. 5:08 - Your advice about gym shoes is all over the place. You are showing a picture of squat shoes, which specifically have a raised heel, which helps with ankle mobility. Converse shoes are very soft, compared to squat shoes which are actually super firm on the bottom. 8:16 - There is a loose correlation between how expensive something is, to its quality and function. Just because something is cheap, does not mean it's going to be garbage, and just because something is expensive, doesn't mean it's going to be suitable. Often you're just paying for a logo, but it's still made in the same sweat shop. 10:24 - Finally something we can agree on. Keep the cologne away.
Oversized shirt at the gym is an aesthetic ngl, especially the graphic tees. I ain’t dressing for the girls at the gym. I’m dressing for the gym bros. Also for the gym Nike blazers > converse. Also vans slip ons I feel is a good choice as well. Just for the convenience factor
I do like some of the choices about functionality like material when you're doing high intensity exercises but rest of this video is trash because of random fashion trends.
@@yalslaus Yeah, the only piece I have really spent decent money on is wireless earbuds as well as comfortable running shoes and the earbuds I just bought for day-to-day life rather than the gym
People do it wrong. 3 sprays of a SPORT cologne. They don’t last as long or project as much. It’s better than smelling like armpits and A hole if you’re REALLY working out
I kinda get the feeling she hasnt been to a real gym or she doesn’t really like going to a gym btw the worst is women in full make up sweating away so gross
I find that wearing regular cotton T-shirts when performing back squats helps me stabilize the bar on my back vs those slick moister wicking shirts. Gotta use the right tools to get the job done!
@@claylippert7203exactly. I wouldnt wear cotton to gym tbh. It absorbs moisture and sweat very quickly and hold them for long as well. The smell of which can be very nauseating. The wetness can also be inconvenient and may lead to skin irritations.
I’ve seen more girls at the gym wearing over ear headphones than guys actually. Also, can’t emphasize the point about avoiding baggy clothes. And this includes tees in relation to your arms. They should either hug your biceps or be no more than 1” of extra fabric total. Anymore than that and you’ll look like you have spaghetti arms. It’s kinda amazing how this small adjustment makes thinner arms look fit and tone rather than like flesh noodles.
i really like to wear oversize/boxy cut tees. It really looks cool just to see the silhoutte of your upperbody (neck, schoulder, rear delts, chest) Also you look strong when you got big forearms. Squats, Deadlift and Leg machines i dont wear shoes.
You can wear cologne just not the date night/strong ones. And nothing wrong with chains, just wear them subtlety by wearing them inside your shirt. Or wearing a gold/silver chain bracelet isnt bad either. Adds to your fit. Women dress to impress, men should too. Just don't peacock.
You didn't mention polo style shirt. I often wear moisture wicking golf shirts. It sets me apart from others. The collar denotes sophistication while you are also able to button it down a bit to entice eyes to your bulging pecs. Let the shirt be form fitting and accentuate your broad shoulders and v-taper. Wear short sleeves to make sure everyone can see your vein popping out on your bicep. Wear slightly baggy shorts that go down to just above the knee. And make sure you have some calves. Or don't. lol. You put me next to the average weight lifter and you'll notice me because, all things being equal, I have much better calves. Good calves are really hard to get so if you have them, it tells people you know how to get the job done.
What would you recommend for an overweight guy? I don't want the moisture wicking fabrics clinging to me but I still want to look as good as I can. Can you do a video with examples?
My favorite workout clothes are from Vuori. Their Ponto performance pants/shorts and their Stratotech tees are my go-tos. They are a bit pricey but worth it!
