I have a small toolbox with mostly multi purpose tools that can do several lite duty tasks, weight is about 30 lbs, if it’s a big repair on the road I stop at either a hardware or auto parts store, if it’s structural I can take the camper off the truck and go get materials to temporary fix it. Great video and informative, 👍🏻
If it was up to me I'd have a huge mechanics toolbox along with me filled to the rafters with tools. :-) But it's too much weight and space. So what I mentioned in the video is good for most situations you encounter with an RV, and it isn't too bulky either. But some RVers may need to pare the list down even further if space and weight is at a premium in their rig. Thanks for watching and leaving a nice comment!
Hi Jerry. I know what you mean. It seems like I keep getting caulking guns but can never find them when they are needed. Oh well, at least they aren't very expensive, right?
A multi-meter; also remember that even if you don't know how to use them all; often times someone will stop and try to help that will know how but if you don't have the tools they can't help.
Hi David. I think I mentioned the multi-meter in the video. But you have a great point about having the right tools on hand so that someone helping you with a task has what they need to get the job done. Thanks for pointing that out!
My Gorilla aluminum step ladder holds up to 300 lbs. and I have always felt safe on it. But fiberglass is a good option too. The main thing is to keep the weight down as much as you can. Thanks for the suggestion Don!
I could add water and fuel filter wrenches, a 10x10 tarp, a bucket and a side note on the air compressor make sure it has enough psi to pump your tires up. I carry a torque multiplier, but that is one of the tools you hope you never need.
