I have been an architectural designer for nearly 30 years, and you are spot on with your recommendations. Some of them I have been implementing for several years, and I’m glad they are catching on. There have been a couple of trends starting in 2023 that I have noticed and been involved with implementing myself that are probably more architectural then interior design elements, but still probably good for you to know about, and they are steam showers and golf simulator rooms. Don’t know if they will continue to be a thing, but they are something to watch for.
This is good advice. We bought a brand new home last year. As soon as we moved in we had our electrician hang 13 fixtures in one day. Lighting makes a huge difference. It just warms up the home. In the kitchen we added new brushed brass handles on our cabinets, brushed brass faucet and new range hood. Took a builder grade kitchen and made it our own. Our home is a mixture of old and new. We have some great high end thrift store furniture pieces mixed with some Pottery Barn pieces. Hubby added lots of extra trim. Never underestimate the power of beautiful trim. We were fully aware that we were going to need to spend some money on our new home to make it the way we wanted it. Thanks Jennifer---Love your Channel. Wish your store was near by. Could you please give some ideas of upgrading light fixtures in the bathroom? I’ve even considered replacing the built in cabinets to upgrade them too. Basically they are builder grade cabinets and I think something more stylish would add value to my home.
