This video presents the bells e'-fis'-gis'-h' whicht form the new peal of St. Albertus Magnus church in Esslingen since 2023.
➥ A bell was cast in 1955 for the newly built parish church of St Albertus Magnus. Until then, bells from a loudspeaker system had been used.
The new bell was made by the Bachert foundry in Heilbronn. It was matched to two loan bells from Straszewo (formerly Dietrichsdorf) and Żegoty (formerly Siegfriedswalde) from present-day Poland, which the small parish was to receive as loan bells.
According to the expert's report at the time, the two loan bells from 1719 and 1759 complemented the modern bell surprisingly well, although the historic bells were of course never harmonised.
The large bell also came from Heilbronn in 1985. As was to be expected at the time, it is a particularly beautiful-sounding instrument.
As part of the "Peace Bells for Europe" project, the peal of St Albertus Magnus with the two loaned bells were also examined. The parish decided that the two bells should also be returned to the former churches as a gesture of peace.
The Bachert foundry in Neunkirchen cast two new peace bells [3+4] to replace the historic bells, which were removed and ceremoniously returned.
Today, a complete set of bells from the Bachert foundry can be heard, which sound surprisingly homogeneous despite the three different years of casting.
