The Brent field is an oil and gas field located in the East Shetland Basin of the North Sea, 186 kilometres north-east of Lerwick, Shetland Islands, Scotland, at the water depth of 140 metres.
Respect for all those involved in this dangerous work. Its so easy to forget that in 2024 when cheap sound bites drown out an industry that helped this country get back on its feet. It also brought 1000s of skilled jobs to Northern Scotland. Respect!
As a service hand for a third party services company (tubular running) i worked on the Brent field platforms many times in the 80's.... Was wild at times :-)
16mm optical Soundtrack I bet?... I was the Sound Recordist and Sound Editor on this production. All was 'mute' apart from the vox pops and David Rees. There would have several prints made and a few other Cresswell Film Unit productions are in the BFI. As far as I know the company no longer exists.
