Hi dolls,
Welcome back to my channel. Today I will be doing something slightly different where I will be reviewing two of the most mis- matched shades for dark- skinned women in the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation range which are Amber Honey (5N2) and Sandalwood (6W1).
If you are looking to switch brands I highly recommend Estee Lauder. It is both high quality make- up, long- lasting and it certainly is a value for money purchase.
Some of the benefits of the foundation which stand out for me are:
1. The range has 61 shades to date
2. The foundation is medium to full coverage
3. It has no fragrance and is non- acnegenic (a huge plus for acne
prone skin)
4. It is perfect for combination to oily skin- no touch ups throughout
the day
5. IT DOESN'T TRANSFER!!!! (HALLELUJAH)

Thanks for doing this video!! It's hard to tell from online because one is in the 6 category and one is in 5 but IMO they are about the same "darkness", but Sandalwood is very green/olive and "desaturated" so kind of gray. Amber Honey is a little more warm and lively which is what I like and many other women with dark skin like, especially as the warmness helps counteract hyperpigmentation areas!

I was literally in the store trying to decide between the two. Sandalwood is definitely darker than Amber Honey, but also, more pale in comparison. I also went with Amber Honey. Necessary video, thank you! 👏🏾❤️

It’s a beautiful foundation. I tried sandalwood before and it made me look so pale. I got amber honey in sample size but I’m yet to try it. This foundation is a must

I thought it was just me who looked washed out and grayish with sandalwood. All my shade matches wear sandalwood and it looks great on them. Last year I gave amber honey a try and it’s perfect for me. It’s all about the undertones and sandalwood looks a little olive.

Carmen Barner Yes! I fell into that trap as well Carmen! So now I’m stuck with a full bottle of sandalwood that I will never use 😢😭... amber honey is stunning! Also, I’m super glad you found your perfect shade becuase this foundation is honestly just incredible... I’ve never received so many makeup compliments in my life since I started using Estée Lauder foundation

Im olive undertone and Amber Honey matches me great after warming up. I only got a sample because I thought Chestnut was my perfect shade, but it’s a tad dark. I also got Nutmeg that was too dark.

Sandalwood is warm too. I believe if you have golden undertone come neutral foundations work.

Hello I learned about double wear while on vacation in Texas. The makeup lady used a gadget to see what color was good for me and it was these two shades. Right off back I thought amber honey but the makeup lady and my cousin thought it was sandalwood. She gave me a sample of both to try and make a decision. After wear them both back and forth for a little over two weeks I decided to go with sandalwood. Surprisingly amber honey looked like sandalwood looked on you. So I would suggest if anyone is torn between 2 shades just get samples and try them out for a week or more before purchasing.

I had the exact same experience with Sandalwood. It turned so grey on me. I tried 3 or 4 more shades and they all turned grey. I gave up on this foundation and figured I didn’t have a good match. Fast forward saw women my colour saying they wore shades in the 5 category. Got some more samples and Finally Amber Honey is my match!!

You can buy the pump for £5 now for EL the Mac one is longer so it bends in the bottle.

that amber honey looks good on you. Im between amber honey 5.2n and 6.1n mocha. I literally did a side by side and i couldnt choose ugh i think one will be my summer and one will be my winter. i was matched in the store. the artist told me the machine says 6.1N but it will make me look ashy and 5.2 will be better. anyway wish me luck

Here for this. Tried this foundation, wasn't happy at all. I was matched as Sandalwood - makes me look super grey! its the only reason I dont like it actually. Mmmmph maybe ill try it again!

I found this foundation very matte . However the shade I got, I always have to mix it with a color corrector. The pump issue also 😭😭😭

+Kholofelo Mohatli oh dear that sounds like a disaster ❤️!!! I’m so sorry for your bad experiece... hopefully you’ve found something that works for you now? It’s funny because the lady who gave me the amber honey sample told me never to use the foundation with a colour corrector but me being the person I am I went and got a colour corrector and what a disaster my darling! I think the foundation works best with combination to oily skin and best to do research then go to the stall with a list of possible shades and work through those with the beauty consultant. That way you are both working within a range you are comfortable with. With 61 shades and 3 undertones to choose from even the most experienced consultants can get your shade wrong...wrt the pump- you can always get one at a stand-alone M.A.C

This reminds me when I was deciding... I went home with two shades on my face and came home with sandalwood but went back to the store day after liking Amber Honey more it gives you that glow but not much of a difference I like it. Good foundation

I think it's already been said by everyone else but Amber Honey is the better fit. It is warmer and does not grey you out like Sandalwood. I noticed that your mouth and chin area appears to be slightly darker than your cheek area, so it might be worth trying to colour conceal in that area with a reddish-toned concealer to cancel out the darkness before applying your foundation.

Hello, thank you for the video. I'm curious, why did you compare a neutral in shade 5 and a warm in shade 6? Why not try 5w2 instead of Sandalwood? Anyway, Estee Lauder has a machine that can tell you your exact shade. It works well.

As I mentioned in the video and description box, the reason why I did this is because from the research I’ve conducted, Amber Honey and Sandalwood are the two most popular shades for dark skinned women and the most mis-matched so I compared these two specifically for those reasons.

@@KaizenTshego I actually threw it away because when I was getting match the white lady kept telling me it was correct and I was telling her it was to dark. I bought it to see if maybe in different lighting it could work but didn't. I ended up loosing the receipt.
