The click bait is honestly pissing me off, girl I can’t understand how you think your an “ expert” in this skincare compared to dr Idriss, who is a dermatologist, she studied for 12-13 years and yet u went to school for 6- 12 months. I don’t know anyone who would call esthetician an “ expert” compared to a dermatologist. Also I’m not saying this to hurt or offend anyone, I genuinely love Cassandra content, I just think the click bait of this video was very offensive to dr Idriss.

The comments section is suspiciously free of any kind of negative feedback so I can only guess this will be deleted but I’m getting really sick of unqualified ‘skin care experts’ acting like they know better than people who actually went to medical school. You don’t and this trend of less qualified individuals acting like they have the authority to heavily critique an MD’s personal skincare routine is just a huge turnoff. Not a fan.

@@jetungnnifer She never claims to know better than a dermatologist. She even discloses that she's not a dermatologist at the start of every video. She's a medical aesthetician, so her knowledge on skin care is extensive. I have to say I am surprised you've never heard of Biologique Recherche. It's considered the exfoliation holy grail among all dermatologists and celebs, at least here in Europe. It's the one that started it all in the 1970s when no one even thought about exfoliation. That said, the formula has been copied and reinvented many times over by other companies. And most importantly, made more affordable, because BR is ridiculously expensive.

@marsti8483
@marsti8483 2 года назад
I told myself to leave it... but I can't. This is a small information boost to you about cruelty free and other claims RU-vidrs, celebrities and influencers love to throw around ... It has been illegal to test cosmetic products and ingredients on animals in Europe since 2013. It is also illegal to sell cosmetic products that have been tested on animals in Europe. This applies to brands such as Avène, which is French. Therefore, promoting products as cruelty free in Europe is not recommended as it may suggest that other competing brands are not, which is misleading marketing. This may be the reason why Dr. Shereene does not repeatedly use the word cruelty free about the products that she's using. If you by cruelty free, mean that it should not contain any animal derived ingredients, then look for the claim Vegan. To add to this fact, claims that may suggest that non-harmful ingredients are indeed harmful, is illegal in EU (such as paraben free, soap free, phenoxyethanol free). If these ingredients are deemed non-harmful by the regulatory administrations (equivalents of FDA), it is illegal for skin care brands to promote their products by suggesting that those ingredients are harmful. So, to conclude these are claims you will not often see in Europe, not because they don't apply, but because using them is prohibited.

I hope Cassandra and other "skincare influencers" on RU-vid change their approach to clickbaity thumbnails honestly. While Cassandra is a licensed esthetician which is better than someone labeling themselves a skincare specialist without proper qualifications, I think many skincare youtubers sensationalize these reaction videos too much, which of course is not only a thing among skincare youtubers but reaction videos in general. However I think it would be good to take it down a notch especially in a video such as this one, because even though Cassandra claims not to know more than a dermatologist, the thumbnail does imply that to a certain extent. While she's very respectful and informative in the way she talks about it, I much prefer the way Robert Welsh reacts to other professional makeup artists' videos, which he originally avoided but when he did it he opened it saying that he will likely not have anything to criticize but rather it will be more of a learning experience for him. I hope you take this sort of approach into consideration for future videos where you react to other dermatologists' skincare videos.

9/10 estheticians are going to care more about your face than a dermatologist. Have you seen Cassandra's skin transformation? She clearly knows what she's talking about. The thumbnail is clickbait but who cares? It's RU-vid and this is how they make their money. I have seen good dermatologists and bad dermatologists. The last one I saw barely looked at the issue I was having, didn't touch it, walked into the room without knocking while I was changing and sent me on my way in less than 4 minutes. An estheticians job is to care for your face so I have zero issues with one critiquing anyone's skincare routine. Furthermore, when I recently suffered from a serious boil, I decided to go to the ER rather than wait until my dermatologist appointment a few days later. They actually cared for me, treated it appropriately and talked to me. When I went to the dermatologist for the follow-up and concerns, he hardly looked at me, did not want to discuss options for healing quicker and didn't even ask me if I was taking medications. In fact, I have only seen one good dermatologist and this was for a more serious skin condition. She carefully reviewed my options, admitted that there was no easy answer, listened to me about what I had researched and came up with a treatment plan we both agreed on. Estheticians are trained specifically to care for you and your face: dermatologists are doctor's whose jobs are to diagnosis serious skin conditions.

@@sunscreenhoarder6558 I know that she is Lebanese. I just stated that as Moroccan I use rose water as well even that some doctors in the US told me not to use it often. I didn’t say that she was Moroccan 😉. Also, many other people from different countries use rose water: it is just part of my heritage and I just stated what we use it for.

I love rose water. I get mine from either the Arab grocery store or Russian food store. I used it on my skin and hair. ❤🌹

I dont know why an esthetician is commenting on an dermathologist's skincare. Even if she does not criticize her, I really miss the point on why she should "endorse" what dr Idriss is doing.

i think you all fail to realize that scientific literature is available to the public, which is likely how cassandra is able to know so much about all the chemicals and their compounds and the latest news about them. she is just giving out information this lovely derm (who i also watch and love!) didn’t mention. for people who are interested in WHY we shouldn’t do certain things or want to know the risks we are taking if we do decide to do these things, this video is helpful because while you could just take a doctor’s word for it, it’s still nice to know the research and evidence backing up their claims.

Idk if anyone mentioned, but the Derm's video audio was incredibly quiet compared to yours, so I could barely hear her but your audio was LOUD!

Dr. Shereene Idriss 🎉❤ she always mentions how her skin is different than everyone else’s and how we all should be aware of that. I’m disappointed that there are people who make videos like these 😮

I like your channel, but that thumbnail is clickbait. She’s a certified dermatologist, your an esthetician. I don’t think you have any say for her skincare routine

Hi Cassandra, next time could you pls turn up the volume of the featured video. I had to keep playing with my volume control in this video. Love you tho!💕

IMO it is negligent for you to not mention that long-term hydroquinone use (longer than 6 months of uninterrupted use) can cause permanent, irreversible silvery discoloration of the skin
