Teacher...Very Practical Lesson! I enjoyed it a lot! I never use VLOOKUP or MAX per say, but it ties everything in your Lesson together nicely! Good Job!
Hello! Im slowly trying to expand my knowledge on google sheets, your videos are great!! I had a question, maybe your or another can shed some expertise. Some of the sheets at my workplace are hacked together and are terrible to sift through! I work in a group with three others. We have 200 Item#'s assigned to us, 50 each. I was looking for a way to differentiate these a little easier. Was there a way to format a sheet to allow for each persons Item# to highlight a different color when entered into a cell for all current and future tabs? Tab 1 being the masta data sheet with names and numbers. So, if Jon enters in any of his 50 item#'s into any tab/cell it would hilight green. If Tim enters in any of his 50 item#'s into any tab/cell it would highlight blue. To note, it would not have to be highlighting. Maybe if "Jon" is entered in cell A1 in a tab then it woud only show Jon's item#'s while everyone elses would fade out. IDK! Maybe, probably, another way of going about it. Thanks! I'll keep working my way through the videos, might happen accross something!
Without being able to see the exact sheet I would suggest using Filter function and or Filter view, it can also be achieved with Conditional Formatting.
Hello sir, I've been watching your since January, I wanted to ask if we can create a drop down list for a column (every cell) and one item should not repeat in that column but we can select 'Remaining items' in next cell, please make a video about it, and if you already have it on your channel please give me the link.
YOU r doing a great job man💖💖... I have been learning a lot of things from this channel... 'BTW, have you completed all Apps Script tutorials in this channel? Or i have to learn more after completing your vidoes to become an expert on Apps Script
Hello, first I want to thank you for all the useful videos and tutorials you’ve been doing on this channel it helped me a lot so far Second, I faced a very stupid yet irritating problem while working on my sheet. I hope there is a way to contact you so I would explain better with an image or a video, but for now I’ll try to explain it here.. I’m developing an online scoring system, where a student will fill a Google form, and then my Google sheet will calculate his or her score.. so my problem is that some of the answers will give the students a negative score (-1) and when I want to sum the criteria for each it doesn’t acknowledge the negative value I tried to use (sumif>0) and (sumif
Very nice video and learned a lot, just add one thing how to publish this as single webpage, without formula bars, googlesheet menus etc, protected formula cells, only input for user
@@ExcelGoogleSheets Thanks! Yeah I figured, been looking around all day but seems I will have to try and get a software developer for my project. You probably interpreted it correctly, like when you minimize something into the taskbar, but in a set Cell!
Hey great video! How would you go around using all of this structure to show it in an interactive website? Could you turn it into an API from which you can make requests? I guess what I envision is a page where costumers could input their needs and get a fee estimate in return.
In that case, would it be sensible to get user input, set actual backend values in spreadsheet to that input and get the calculated fields to return to the front end? This seems to me like the most straightforward way, but also I guess it could be quite ineficient to have all of the ".getRange() - .getValue() - .setValue()" runnin every time. Would the spreadsheet even evaluate if it's not open ? Would it be better to implement all of the logic for the calculations you did here directly in a script and have the API return that?
Anyways, I hope you see this. I'm transitioning from civil engineering to web development and your videos have been amazingly useful to me. Thanks very much, you are a true hero.
As you have already noticed there are advantages and disadvantages to each method. It will be fasted if you implement the login in from end JavaScript, but it will also make that logic publicly available. Ideally you would have the logic on your own server and then call it to get the results back, but then you'd be looking at a full stack web application. I think .getValue() - .setValue() method should work just fine.
@@ExcelGoogleSheets thanks for the insight. See I have been learning a lot from your videos, and I think I could make a week app from a script. I've work in an online academy, and I offered them to make a script so that each teacher could have their files organized and shared with their corresponding classes automatically. Now it turns out they manage almost all of their internal administration in some sheets, quite manually. They asked me to implement a while bunch of administrative functions for them to show in some "page". How safe would it be to use Google's Web App for this? We are talking login for different users, file management, even payments through external apps. Could I develop the whole logic in apps scripts as an API and call it from some other website service?
Hallo sir My question is How to setup page like A3 A4 And set margin of a particular sheet and make pdf of it Using app script in Google sheets Please make video on it if possible Thank you 🙏
@@ExcelGoogleSheets i want to make a script That converts Google sheets data In pdf But problem is when i want to arrange data landscape and horizontal way and also want to set margin and set different page set-up A4,A3, legal size .
