So if you buy a 4x8ft sheet and use 3x6ft of it. It won't calculate the wastage. You also cannot tell it that i can buy fixed sizes like 4x8ft and not 3x6ft that i used. So if i have 10 sheets of 3x6ft i actually paid for 10 4x8ft sheets. How do you deal with those scenarios.

Yeah you're exactly right. It's one of the shortcomings of using area calculations to estimate cost. Most estimators will factor in a waste percentage based on data collected from previous projects. It's not a perfect science.

The way to deal with this is to specify a unit of 'sheet' and then use the 'factor' field (multiplier) to convert from square feet to number of sheets. So if your sheet covers 32 sq feet, your factor would be 1/32 or 0.03125. Then, Quantifier Pro will report the number of 4x8 sheets required. Of course, you would still want to include a waste percentage.

Please note this extension does not work for Mac users. Spreadsheet functions only for Windows machines
