I wish they made a splitting axe or maul with a metal handle. I hate using tools I know are going to break (wood and fiberglass handles)

Estwing not Eastwing. Retired carpenter, all my hammers, small crowbars etc were Eastwing for years until one day I noticed the spelling.

Thanks for showing a well seasoned axe. I have been looking at the Estwing as a replacement for my old go to of a 3/4 size Plumb camp axe which disappeared recently. I think your review my have convinced me, even though I don't have much use for an axe anymore, I feel a little naked without one in the shed.

its a light duty axe for CAMPING folks....not chopping up 17 cords...i love my Estwings...light duty wonders!

Look around for prices, I just spent more twice on one from a sporting goods store than what I could have: $69 Vs $32. Glad to see it’s a good axe for camping though.
