Clocks are fun and relatively easy; watches not! Those needle-pointed watch tweezers have a bad habit of catching or binding a tiny part and sending it into orbit somewhere on the bench or floor.
My winder is non moving, not winding ,not in and out for time adjustments I have a Fake Rolex with a Euro made movement , it’s ticking but need to move the calendar ( it’s a week behind now ,and 6+ hours fast now )and needs adjustment to correct time , I don’t want to do any damage suggestions please oh there a missing part of the clasp on the band any ideas for a replacement ( old one lost, it was a crown) new one could be anything , that looks nice my idea it’s like a fob on a pocket watch ( s/s color) not gold black face no numbers?
Sir, could you describe to me the exact problem in layman’s terms? I believe I have the same problem with my watch (the crown, fully extended, does not engage the hands for readjusting the time, but it does engage the quickset mechanism in the first position). The watch is keeping excellent time so I feel there is only this issue with adjusting the hands and does not need a full service, so I would like to convince my watchmaker of this too with the information that you give me! I am worried that they will overcharge me for what should be a simple fix! 😉
Good day, this type of problems happens when you quickly pull out then crown stem, or accidentally bump the watch. Is a a common issue with these ETA movements model and i cant confirm for you if you have this problem on your watch. Either way, the watch maker has to dissemble the watch in order to find and fix the problem, as you can see in the video. May i know whats your watch brand and model?
Eathan Straker yes, is posible. It happened to me with another movement pressing too hard and affected the mechanics, when you don't know that much you don't have the feel for it, but the release button is a delicate part.
Thanks for replying, would you think that the problem I have would be fixed by resetting the keyless works? The crown stem dosent lock or click into place or positions it passes and removes freely.
@@eathanstraker2691 Very late reply but I will just say that yes this issue is fixed by resetting the keyless works. When removing the crown of any movement I would advise first googling which position the crown should be removed from to avoid causing issues with the keyless.
Thank you for this video! I have an Armida A11 (2836-2) that I'll be sending off for warranty service - sometimes when I wind it, it's like it's actually rotating the automatic rotor.
