Etat Libre d'Orange Rien Review 

I simply love, love, love this perfume. In my Fragrantica review I said "...the leather note in Rien punches you in the stomach, knocking the wind out of you, while breathing new life into you with aldehydes". Was true then and is still true now. My bottle is rather vintage (c. 2009) but from what I have heard is that if it has been reformulated it's been done well-preserving all the sadistic charm and gothic elegance. Smell swell & be well! xox

Its crazy how something weird to some can be amazing to others. That's the art of perfumery. I have no experience with this house but I can see that changing in the near future. Great review!

I finally got a sample of this, mostly in response to your review. It is definitely a strange fragrance, but in a good way. I'm not sure that I pick up smoke, but I do get your friend's description of antiseptic spray. Adding the gauze to it is a pretty good description. It's not FB worthy to me, but it is a really fun perfume to dab on while I'm at home.

So I did press the YES button on AMAZON ..... really really like it :) To get the leather note it has to go on the skin....is it dissolving it lol ?

I also rate Rien, Divin Enfant and Eau de Protection among my top ELDO scents and also fat electrician, la fin du monde and dangerous complicity. Rien I nickname the rebel without a cause scent as it reminds me of something James Dean would have wore.

So alot of reviewers mention the incense in this. Is this a good one to get if I'm wanting incense featured prominently in the mix?

This sounds like something i would not like but maybe right up Marc's alley.
