Back when I was 21 I had a friend I was around for like 3 years and we just clicked bro, we partied, kicked it, everything. Then he ghosted me. Never knew why. He avoided me and I would go over and his family said he was asleep. I did it for a few weeks. I gave up after a while. It happens

I feel so sad for Ethan. Ghosting is the worst, especially with no explanation. I had a friend of six years ghost me, and got an apology two years later but with no explanation why. It still affects me today. Even if Post had valid reasons to distance himself from Ethan, the most respectful thing to do is tell why. It is the "why" that is the hardest part.

Well I don't think people realize what it's like to be famous, I don't even realize it. It's definitely super stressful and when someone's stressed the fuck out the last thing they wanna do is hit up all their friends. That one 3 hour podcast where they talked about pizza gate and watched the Patrice Wilson livestream was so good. I’ve listened to it multiple times. It just like 3 friends chilling and having fun.
He moved to LA, networked like a pro, got as big as he needed to be and then cut down his gigantic contact list to a number that was psychologically sustainable. Ethan didn't make the cut. It wont be anything personal. Always hurts when you lose a friend though. :(

I just wanna say, I'm guilty of ghosting. I do it to even family members, albeit they've never been that close. I think I have some mental issues like depression and anxiety, which is stereotypical but I don't know how else to describe it. When I get into what I presume to be a depressive mindset, talking to people, especially to those I haven't talked to in awhile, becomes monumentally difficult and anxiety driven. As if my body won't let me respond. Post might not be the same, maybe he's just grown apart but, to those who feel burned by ghosting know that some don't do it out of disinterest, but fear.
me too and tbh i empathise with post here because i'm sure his life is overwhelming in many respects and i can see myself doing something similar without meaning to in his position. it's hard to describe this to people who can't relate to the feeling. for me my adhd has a lot to do with it too.

I’m not a star but a few years ago I actively disconnected from my friends simply because my personal life was a lot to deal with and I needed time alone. I had zero energy to give to anyone. Not out of malice, but it was the best way I could manage my sanity. Maybe it was very selfish, but i certainly rationalized it to be the best way to deal with my issues. I also have friends who’ve ghosted me before and I embraced them back when they reached out. Life is hard guys, let’s not act like we all have a rule book to deal with it’s ever changing pressures. I’m sure Ethan understands that too. It hurts, but he’s old enough to understand and empathize.
Everytime they mention Post I immediately remember his childhood story about the figure that watched him stagnant through the window in the woods for an entire night.
Everybody who starts out Ethans "Friend" eventually gets sick of him and leaves or outright stops talking to him. iDubbbz, Post Malone, Filthy Frank Joji, Trisha Paytas... now he's with Hasan and I can see that friendship crashing and burning fast. Ethan is like a chameleon who tries to change what he's like to suit whoever he's trying to befriend. I think Hasan will get sick of that real fast and get the hell out of there as soon as it becomes too much work.

This has happened to me with a very close mate of mine recently and it can be so upsetting when you dont know the reason why/ or how others can so quickly separate themselves from you. Its concerning and upsetting shit that makes you question yourself alot.
This breaks my heart so much, it's cause I miss Ethan and Posty vids, their friendship and comedy dynamic and what they brought to the culture and the podcasts back then was so valuable. I miss their friendship and hope to see it soon in the future.

I don't think that excuses ghosting someone who put you on. Even if a message came through to say he's too busy, that would be better than leaving a friend's message unanswered. People outgrow people but a thirty second text isn't going to kill him. I don't even leave acquaintances on unread, because there's this thing called having manners. Somehow people think it's alright to be rude because they are behind a screen and don't have to do it in the person's face. That's spineless just like blowing up and ghosting those who were there before your blow up.
