Beyond Meat is the only newer meat alternative brand that doesn’t have a bunch of over processed ingredients, soy protein, etc. The flavor of Beyond Meat is very similar to regular meat to me, the only thing I notice is some of the more fatty umami taste is substituted with some Himalayan sea salt type of taste. I’ll invest in them just because I personally want to continue to see this product in the future. Hopefully they can continue improving the cost competitiveness until it is significantly less expensive than any traditional meat.

@@Wendywonder123 What’s the fake food taste? I’m curious if it could be narrowed down to specific ingredients. I wonder if it is the bit of potassium chloride they use as a semi-salt substitute. Because I also invest in a salt start-up trying to displace the salt substitute potassium chloride (which can have a more chemical taste to some). The start-up uses a tech to make much more fine-grained salt crystals so there is more surface area & flavor per mg of salt. www.microsaltinc.com/

The big move is Americans are searching for that overall health alternative . PLANT BASED DIETS fight diseases such as cancer,diabetes, cardiovascular etc. The amount of food and water to feed these animals is insane and not sustainable with our growing world population. The key winner in all of this is overall health and global sustainability.

he keeps saying protein protein and protein, but meat is not just made of protein. It comprises many different vitamins and other minute nutrients, which is impossible to copy by just using vegetables. I used to love the idea of beyond meat, but more i look into it the more i feel like lab-grown cultured meat is the future

I hope not, but I'm fairly certain profit motives will quickly degrade the quality/healthy aspects of meat alternatives. Someone will make a cheap, convincing enough Beyond Burger knock off as soon as the patents run out. Then where will we be? I don't wanna get to a point of no meat production or availabilty, while being served sludge pressed into my favorite characters.

No, you’re thinking of Impossible Burger. Beyond Meat is the only newer meat alternative brand that doesn’t have a bunch of over processed ingredients, soy protein, etc. I’ll invest in them just because I personally want to see this product in the future. Hopefully they can continue improving the cost competitiveness until it is significantly less expensive than any traditional meat.

Yup. Studies show the amount of processing is unreal in beyond products. You are actually better off just eating a regular beef patty with minimal processing.

@@Wendywonder123 when I mean clean, I’m thinking of things like no added nitrates, sugars, preservatives, steroids, etc. “Processing” simply means transforming the food product in some way - it doesn’t automatically mean a bad thing, even though in practice today it often involves processes that can cause adverse health effects.

How much fibre do you usually get? Beyond Burger is fairly high in fibre. It takes a while to adjust to an increase in fibre. If one Beyond Burger gave you the squits you should probably work on getting more fibre in general.

That is a personal opinion. Beyond sausage (especially breakfast) is recognised to be one the best meat alternative products out there. Impossible for many, because of soy or other additives, leaves a heavy feeling, and not something that can be eaten frequently. People will choose one product or the other, but it’s less about their completion, much more about plant companies taking share from the massive meat industry. That wave will float all boats.

Carbs aren't a problem per se, with regular exercise is completely fine as long as you don't consume refined sugar nonstop. Fats now, like the ones in meat, cause heart disease even in low amounts if you consume them in a regular basis.

That’s cool to be a cowboy farmer and all, but growing crops and hunting for food in the 21st century is an unsustainable solution for 99.99% of the population. We ultimately will need something synthetic like this to move beyond our environmentally wasteful mass food production system.
