i wouldn’t say it was easy for me but it wasn’t difficult either, i live in CA which is very supportive as the states go. it took me 1-2 years to start HRT. and i got top surgery about a week ago. i’m 17.

Hearing Ethan get so passionate about caring for trans kids and telling Oli off made me as a trans person just have a sigh of relief, like finally someone is just like “YOU’RE THE PROBLEM OLI” finally someone says it to his face. Pretty sure this is an unpopular opinion amongst H3’s followers, but I’m with Oli on the minor debate. You can see in Jubilee’s Middle Ground on liberal & conservative trans that hormones are now easily accessible and the doctors don’t even find the need to have multiple screenings for one person in order to prescribe them the hormones, both people from the conservative AND liberal side agreed on that. It’s the same argument as how the left keep mentioning how easy getting a gun is in the US, on paper it seems that it has to go through a lot of screening process, but in reality it’s not as hard to get some.

I think it’s so easy for Ollie to maintain composure because he has no emotional ties to what he’s saying. You can tell when Ethan brings up his lunch box, that it’s really the only time he gets worked up. Respect the grift.
When I was 10, the theme of my mom’s parade float was rocky horror. She dressed me and my 6 year old sister in drag, like various color themed big feather hats, feather boas, and dresses that were lined with feathers. It was fun and I still love the big family photo we took. I’m now a 30 year old cis-het man who has kissed a guy and didn’t like it, accepts all genders and sexualities, is not confused about my own, and am comfortable with the idea of people minding their own business and letting people live how they want. This whole debate is so absurd. These values that the alt-right are so scared of have always existed, and I guarantee you most of the people avidly against the existence of drag, trans people, and gay people, have all been exposed to these things throughout their lives and it clearly hasn’t altered their own sexuality. They need to get the fuck over it.
Thats different from enabling, grooming, or manipulating your kid into believing they are trans, and then allowing or coercing those kids into making life altering decisions based on those beliefs. That is also different exposing your kid to a sexually explicit drag show.

Autistic trans person here. I reject Oli’s suggestion that autistic people don’t know what’s best for them. That’s what my dad told me 15 years ago; that as an autistic person I have no sense of identity and that me being trans is just a phase. It’s not. I have seen myself as a woman since I was about 8. I tried to get hormones at 22 but didn’t make it through the strict process at the time. I finally transitioned at 32, and it was the best decision of my life. Shame on you, Oli for using autistic people to further your disgusting, hateful agenda.
I mean bigotry is never one type. I would be more surprised if his views on autistic people were any different, because from my observations, if someone's transphobic, there's a high chance they also discriminate on other groups.

I think for most people talking about this topic, it is a general misunderstanding of autism rather than malice. I see many people genuinely concerned that autistic people are being manipulated, but education and understanding are the only way out of any of this conflict.

it's interesting seeing people criticize Ethan for not letting Oli finish. Oli is trying to gish gallop, which to say that he's trying to spew out as much information as possible, throw out as many things as he can to construct a narrative, all kinds of faulty statistics and anecdotes lined up in a row. and the reason he's trying to do this is to 1) appear to bolster his argument despite not speaking facts 2) make it impossible for anyone to disprove all of the things he says, just by sheer volume. Trans person from Texas here. If I had gender affirming care when I was growing up (or even just EDUCATION on trans people), maybe I would not have wanted to commit suicide for my entire teenage life. Even as an adult when I started transitioning, the amount of checks and balances and red tape is astonishing. Doctors, therapists, psychiatrists, for every single thing you want to do. Our lives are dictated by the government. We AS ADULTS are not free to make our own choices. Kids are NOT being pushed to transition in any way shape or form. It is absolutely ridiculous. These points being made to protect the 1% of people who de-transition only serve to punish the 99% of people who need gender affirming care. This is ultimately about squashing the entire trans community.

I obviously don't agree with Olie but the lunchbox thing was silly. Olie doesn't really have a full understanding of his own opinions, I think he just feels uncomfortable with sexual content being shown and marketed to children for immense profits while actual research into mental health and gender studies aren't being funded nearly enough. I think he's more scared and overreacting. Obviously we all don't want kids to attend the kind of drag shows that are hypersexual when there are shows appropriate for children.

For instance, when saying that he can’t determine whether the drag queen reading a book to kids is inappropriate, he says that some books are promoting “gender ideology” in a very subtle and subliminal way, as if including a trans character is the same as including sexual acts in a children’s book. So then Ethan draws a parallel to the lunch box because that cartoon could be interpreted as depicting a trans woman (it would be easy to imagine someone like Tucker Carlson make this accusation, just think of his green m&m take). By equating the two, he highlights the absurdity of saying that kids even being aware of trans people and drag queens is somehow damaging, as opposed to the actual common sense take that kids shouldn’t see actual sexual acts (which is not the case at an all ages drag shows).

I'm just saying here, but there is a MASSIVE difference between telling a kid they "should" be Trans and saying it's OKAY to be Trans. NO one is trying to force more kids to be Trans and no one is supporting forcing kids to become Trans. We are all simply saying that you're allowed to be Trans. It's okay to be Trans. And when there is more support, when there is easier access to gender care, there will be more kids who are Trans being confident enough to say it outwardly. It's not that kids are being made Trans. That is simply not happening and no one is trying to "force" kids who aren't Trans to be trans. It's simply just kids who were already Trans are now more freely able to tell their friends, family and a doctor. And when there is easy access to gender care and a supporting family there is a literal 90%+ decrease in suicide. And anything that LOWERS SUICIDE by over 90% shouldn't even be a debate and should just be freely available for anyone who is Trans. Period.

With the intent of a sex change.. most who transition early won’t have enough development to successfully alter genitalia from the lack of access to skin/tissue. Grafting is then sourced from other body parts, to which a colon is utilized. High risk of infection develops with premature sex change. Kids should not transition so young… Just like tattoos, alcohol, and driving- life altering transitions should biologically warrant for mature growth.

That Oli London interview was an amazing destruction. Ethan brought such a powerful and measured energy to the table, and saved the strongest emotion for the end. It was like a slow burn that swelled into an inferno. I talk about trans issues all the time and I was genuinely speechless with how well Ethan returned every single point. That was some strong stuff, I wish everybody could see it.
Olie London immediately writing off RAINBOW FISH as gender ideology-pushing is so telling. We read this book in my Sunday School class when I was 7 or 8. My mom actually used it as her Kids' Sermon backup for if she ever had to teach the kids a good message on short notice.

that's exactly what I thought as well. Kids need to be given ideas so they are more independent. The less a child knows the easier they are to control, Kids are humans, not puppets. 😤 people seem to think kids are just extensions of their parents and not their own person.

I still keep waiting for the obvious question - the foundation of this entire line of inquiry: You're SO worried about minors receiving gender-affirming care due to your belief that one must not interfere with their biological hormones or anatomy prior to turning 18 or risk regretting the decision. The most important question, then, is HOW are everyone else's kids' decisions, mistakes, regrets, or choices YOUR concern?????? You're trying to enforce your beliefs on other parents & other people's children. What's it to you? Where do we draw the line to stop interfering in the medical decisions other people get to make for their own families with their own doctors?

I realized I was Trans when I was 16. I would have found out sooner if I had access to things like TikTok when I was a kid. The rate people are figuring it out is growing not only because of the acceptance, but the ability to understand themselves sooner and seek help. Thanks for ripping him apart live Ethan. 😂
Yup! I had always felt it but only came to terms around 17 then after years of therapy more proper at 19. My feelings haven't changed, I didn't feel influenced by anyone. I grew up in a hard fundie evangelical cult.
I came to realize at 18 that I was trans, but I remember experiencing gender dysphoria at 6 years old, but never understanding that it was gender dysphoria. Awareness helps.
Watching the end now, I wish Olivia had felt comfortable to cut in during that Kind & Civil Conversation with her point about self-esteem & gender dysphoria as a kid being 2 separate things. It was a lot of opportunities for that point to be made. I personally only have ever known 3 trans people (all 3 both pre and post) but NONE have expressed self esteem issues about “looks” growing up, none have talked about being bullied, yet everybody has kept their appearance basically the same besides becoming more masculine or feminine presenting
