yeah, but be careful of what is a true responsibility and what is not. that statement is too shallow if not followed by a clear description of what is responsibility. Just don't let other people determine what responsibility is and most definitely question the standards you have now for what is your responsibility and what is not because to tell you the truth we learn and suck in all that toxic shit our parents and society feed us while we are growing up and in the end we get INCREDIBLE cognitive distortions(which is simply false knowledge that seem absolutely true) that lead to distorted and harmful actions(and a lot of other harmful shit).
It is sublime! You’re absolutely right. I listened to this about five days ago while I was driving, and it brought me to tears. It was exactly what I needed to hear for my life right now. The wisdom pouring out of Ethan’s mouth completely floored me. I haven’t stopped thinking about what he said, and I just searched for this again. I am pretty positive that he has summed up the meaning of life.
Love Ethan Hawke. I think he hasn't gotten the accolades he should have as an actor, who I think is elite. However, I think he is at peace with where his acting career has gone and where he is in his life!
I somehow needed these words this morning as I am heading for work. Been struggling with certain things but I"ll hold onto the wise old man's words that in doing so I maybe onto something
Our relationship to time is really what gets in the way of our perception & understanding. How thankful any of us should be to get wisdom from someone over 90 years of age.
I love the job Denzel did in Training Day. But Ethan did better, IMO. He showed the transformation of his character a lot deeper. I think Mr. Hawk is criminally underrated actor.
I actually learned this in church a few months back saying that even when something bad happens in the end its usually something good in order to grow in life. Thanks for the reminder Ethan. God bless.
That's beautiful philosophy. I'm so excited to watch the full episodes! I've had a rough week (year, as per everyone) and this show is so soothing and reassuring. Thank you for developing it!
Hello there. Thank you for your love, care and support all through my career, I really do appreciate it. Tell me what's your favorite movie of all my movies you have seen so far?
@@ethanhawke8369 personally it’s White Fang, because my mom was a fan of Jack London ; besides you doing a phenomenal job tugging at the heart strings. I’m also a fan of Great Expectations and Reality Bites as I grew up with you so to speak…otherwise I’m a bad one to ask as I spend more time reading than watching movies. Please recommend one for me that I may have overlooked…
@@catsteinhilb2880 that's lovely, I'm glad I impressed you with my movies, it's always a wonderful feeling for me when I get positive reviews from my fans and admirers of my works. Where are you from?
Ethan is about my age. And I've had both and endless crush on him, and also a sense of irritation that he thinks he's soo deep. BUT HE'S F*CKIN DEEP! He's that guy that you expect to be hipster-dismissive, but instead you have this great existential conversation with. And I end up loving him again.
Exactly the same message Jordan Peterson has been giving us for years. Start by tidying your room, then work your way out and up. Be responsible for yourself and what happens to you.
I have always kind of thought the same, but every time I hear an interview it's so much deeper than the superficial bs that most actors talk about. He's got substance. It's never about fame.
@@yourmajesty3569 This! He “seems” pretentious until you listen to a few interviews and realize he is not just spouting cliches. I hate pretentious people but Ethan is one of the few actors who really is diving deep.
He's literate. And he's introverted. Which makes someone come off pretentious. They're just highly intelligent and may not have the best social presentation.
