Ethan Hawke stopped by to talk about his new movie Blaze that follows the journey of Blaze Foley who was a major part of the outlaw country scene in Austin Texas.
When I met Blaze in 1988, he first introduced himself to me as David Fuller. He had Duct Tape on the toes of his cowboy boots that day, he told me those were his wingtips. I played Tuesdays at Joe's Generic Bar on 6th St in ATX. He liked the way I sang the blues and was always at the end of the bar on Tusedays where he would always join me in the Backyard on breaks knowing I'd share a Doob with him. We had some wonderful pun driven conversations. The guy was a total trip and a tragic genius. I mourn the loss of him for all of us.
Got to see Blaze in Houston and take a pic with Ethan. GREAT movie. Very real. It is the type of movie that you will never forget. Haunting. Very glad to be introduced to Blaze's music. Thank you, Ethan! :) GREAT INTERVIEW.
