It was never unused, Whaill’s Track 2 falls under the same boat as Gaddzooks’ Track 2, it was in the game’s files (in Gaddzooks’ case it was hidden and was obvious due to the gap between 1 and 3), waiting to be added

Yeah as the previous commenter said, it wasn’t unused lost media. It’s the same as Air Island Maw’s second track. Frondley’s second track. Etc. Which were all tracks that were already part of the song, just not released yet until the song allowed it to be. Current MSM songs are already fully produced before the islands debut, but since newer islands release in waves- they only add certain tracks at the very beginning before they’re able to add the rest. It helps the song grow in a natural way with each new update.

Thank you! But in truth, this island is actually the first time I started singing for non-vocal monsters. Usually back when I started in 2019, I’d only be recreating the monsters that sang with actual recorded voices. I wouldn’t sing for monsters like G’day or Gob even though they’re using their mouths to make the sound, because the sound is coming from an instrument. And I still do this in the present, even with actual vocals, cuz you’ll see in my other covers I leave out Rare Wubbox and Dipsters because I never know how to recreate them in an appealing way. The only reason I made an exception for Blarret and Yooreek is because both are a form of “vocal synth” Which is not natural occurring vocals, but rather electronic generated and pitched amalgamations of a sampled voice sound. Otamatone’s do not sample a voice, but they are toys designed and played to operate like a voice. So that is why I made that decision. If a monster at least operates like a voice and sounds enough like one for me to sing it. I’ll do it in my covers lol.

To me it was a party whistle sound. And even if I wanted to, I’m not always great at high-pitched cheering noises. I hope to get better at healthier high voiced things, but for now I’m actually a pretty soft-voiced singer and can only belt in my mid-range.

Ethereal Workshop isn’t really my preferred style of music. But I am still amazed with how inventive and unorthodox a lot of the sound design is for these ethereal monsters. When the game first started all sounds were from traditional instrumentation and singing, but Ethereal Workshop has sampled sounds, uniquely crafted synth sounds, and almost every monster is creating a new form of rhythmics that wasn’t commonly used in the game before. Vocalists are now also instruments, instruments are also vocals at the same time. Everything is fascinating and layered, so it’s always diverting expectations.
