Befekadu Degife, great to see you intact. You are a great man and so precious to my soul. Spectacular, the leading Ethiopian economist.
I appreciate Prof. Befkadu good to see you after quite a while, very much friendly person, my mentor my teacher like you, bless you, I’ve to come to Keranio, visit you I love to hear your jokes & loud laughters God bless you more you’re already blessed. 🍷🍷
Professor Befakadu , independent minded and dedicated teache, had produced lots of students who served and serving their country. Deserves great respect and recognition!
ESATtv. - Title is misleading. His objection is to some of policies and not total opposition as you try to make it a click bait. The careless mislabel hurts otherwise good interview.
Good to hear from you Professor. I am.lucky to be thought by teachers like you and Doctor Eshetu Chole. I have enjoyed every minutes of your lecture as well as your marvellous wense of humor.
Dr. Fecadu Degfe, great and one of the unforgettable University Lectureres. I wish those in decision making positions, in Ethiopia and beyond, take NOTE of his wisdom and expertise.
Thank you professor for sharing us such sweet and excellent advice. I truly appreciate you. This is big advice and indication for all African leaders; of course with the will of almaighty God, they may come to this line of business. የኛ ጀግና! ረጅም ዕድሜና ጤና ተመኘሁሎት።
Befe is a kind, passionate and patriotic person. He did the best he could whilst lecturing at AAU. I can witness about his qualities, as I was his student.
I used to support pm Abiy so far. still I dont see any option. what this baba saying about the economy is very true. simple example in this reany season we dont have water for the last 15 days in Ayat area which is called one of the best developed areas in Addis ababa. but they have constructed 3or4 parks in the City.which one is more important? water or park ? this implies as has been said even if they get money they fail to solve the basic needs.
An amazing intellectual unfortunately like the great jazz musicians he is a diying breed unable to pass on his skill and experience. What a tragedy him and Eshetu Chole could not produce the next noble laureate for economics. I hope this curse would stop in the next generation. I don't see much hope with this one
The pride we take in our country used to be matched with a high moral standard our society lived up to. Unfortunately the same cannot be said today as we stand out for the deficit of moral as the society is plagued with corrupt behaviours and outrageous level of tribalism bordering on racism. The focus should be on changing this by reorientating the young generation. This is a very good conversation and it would have been even more relevant had it focused on the rot around the moral standard.
The problem related to lack of homegrown investment initiative seems to do a lot with the division destroying the society. Until that gets a proper solution with reform and mutual acceptance, I don't see much hope in that front because as we remain focusing on each other it would be hard to create a conducive atmosphere for local entrepreneurs to grow and thrive without hindrance. We are not owing our country is not far off the mark because no society in our terribly divided situation can claim to own their country with real sense of it. It is a very unfortunate situation to be in though.
I salute you a strong proud men. but when it gets to politics it different game unfortunately you are true Ethiopian but your knowledge is very limited in politics and histo
adwa factories? in adwa there is only one factory . during the 27 years more factories and educational institutes in oromia and amhara region. professor is talking without fact.
Professor l apparition was being heard what saw you . However Tplf was being destroyed education too i lived Uk since 2018 ,most Europe theme once fishing college or university .i had been looking jop they will be able middle class income, tolf was bringing attitude making reflecti sold fake documents us degree, even out demolished or dimlerizging well educated people had been accused his way ruling us political issues his legacy was still remain new prime minister insight meanwhile i think many officers administration will be involved still backward waya .
I can see how difficult UK's english is from your text. I cant understand anything at all. Next time you write in english please try to remember the followers here are mostly Ethiopians and make every effort to write in simple english. 👌
It isn't a big deal for a western educated economics professor 🤣. The professor was extremely pontificating on how he and his ethiopian scholar compatriots in the US were challenging their white teachers, but I can only surmise the teachers would most definitely not understand whatever the habesha students may have been trying to say considering their poor mastery of the english language. They may probably have been rambling with their basic english words running into each other without the teachers understanding them altogether but they still thought they were making great points in their mind🤣
@@hitoaloni3233 I am afraid you are probably wrong. These kids polished their english language fluency from the native speakers such as Canadian, US, and British educators who used to teach in those days in the above mentioned schools.
Appologies for my belated rebuttal, but how come then he failed to understand the difference b/n saying " you don't need to know and you don't want know" when he reacted to the Italian resturanter he narrated about in his interview?
What is ethnic apartheid? The term "apartheid", an African word, derived from the French term "mettre à part", literally translated as "separate, separate." Apartheid is a policy based on the idea of separating people based on racial or ethnic criteria. Separatness, lit. ( 'aparthood') was a system of institutionalized racial segregation that existed in South Africa and South West Africa (now Namibia) from 1948 to the early 1990s. And now in modern times, in 2003, in Ethiopia. No one believes, but it's true. A prosperous political party in Ethiopia has shown its leadership, it is a highway to hell. Fanno calls on all Ethiopian intellectuals and politicians to be ready to build a free prosperous Ethiopia. Ethiopia for all, all for Ethiopia, to stop the apartheid system!
I remember reading something like 'no two watches and no two doctors read the same' I guess this concept works for economists as well Dr Abiy is surrounded by young and seasoned economists from prestigious universities He makes decisions based on the advice and suggestions of these professionals It is totally unfair to say he is wrong
No wonder Ethiopia is prospering at a speed of light in every sector in the last 4 years. Kudos to the seasoned economists surrounding the great Abichu. Some nay sayers have been decrying that nearly about 500 factories have been out of work due to one or another reason in the last couple of years and yet they fail to recognize the fact that Dr Abiye has managed to build a couple of parks, one modern liabrary and an underground car parking lot which could easily propel the economy of the country to an unprecedented height. 👌
Land is occupied by land owners in US and western countries and they are excellent in their economy. Our case is not different but communist thinking wad the problem
