omg! I've been trying to learn about the ethiopian scale for such a long time but never found tutorials in english! I can perfectly transfer this to the piano :DDD
Thank you 🙏🏽 I wish there is more people like you . I have been practicing bass guitar but I can’t find any Ethiopian music note or scales I watch also Henok practice room on you tube keep up the good work.
hey man keep doing these please! always loved mulatu astatke but could never quite pin the right notes in my play alongs! thanks for the great video man!
Tezeta minor scale is the Japanese Hirajoshi scale :) and Ambassel scale is the 5th mode of Tezeta Minor right? Over which chord do you play the Ambassel scale? Major or Minor? There's no 3rd. Works great over a sus4. And the harmony behind your improvisation? Thanks!!
Yes, Ambassel and Tezeta minor contain the same notes, but are each centered around a different pitch. Sus definitely works as you said. You can create a progression that pivots between that sus sound and a Major 7 #11 a halfstep higher and that could work nicely for Ambassel. Something like E-11 to FMaj7#11 and playing E Ambassel over the whole thing might be nice to try out.
Thx man, i really dig those scales that get more color as one avoid playing notes from a 7 note scales... May i ask what's the brand and the model of this fretless bass you use here? Really love its sound too! Keep on!
Thank you! Not anything in particular it's just a little background track and imrpovisation I made to demonstrate the Anchihoye scale! Glad you like it!
Greetings! to you Artist Jeff. I am an Ethiopian and excited to get your video about Ethiopian music nature. I think you have removed the PDF from underneath your Channel! Please let me get it. I do live in New York and want to be a professional singer! My name is Hana. Thank you!
Did you subscribe to the mailing list on my website? If so, can you let me know what day that was. It's automated the PDF that goes out and it may have been on another lesson topic. I'll gladly send to you!
