When my grandmother died she had over 200 rolls of toilet paper, 24 bottles of oil of Olay plus boxes and boxes of cake and corn bread mix for one little 90 year old woman. When you came to visit she asked for more. Years later when I got Covid and ran out of toilet paper I could hear her voice in my head saying I told you so!! Your ladies bring back so many memories of her.

‘Can you make this one fresh for me?’ Died. I used to work in a deli as my first job many years ago and this was always being asked...even if I opened a new mortadella they didn’t like the look of it and wanted me to open another.
Oh i wanna cry...you guys make me miss so many of my great aunts, great-grandmas, grandmas-& they did say '$hit' alot because it was so very important to them for some reason & as much as we made fun of the 'housecoats', guess who has 1?❤️
I'm only 26 but I'm still Italian enough to interview and man-handle every item of produce in the store to find the best ones. Plus I give em hell if they don't shave the deli meats thin enough.

LOL, I am the age of these grandmothers and I so enjoy the supermarket. When Mt. St. Helens blew and there was a run on the stores my husband tried to find a reason to go to the store. I had everything covered. Now, if there is a bad storm and we aren't able to get to the store, my family doesn't think about going to the store. Instead, they expect a fancy dinners and deserts because they know nona could feed an army.
OMG, I'm actually crying crying and crying laughing at the same time. I spent 20 years in Italy and would give anything to be back there. Also, l'm mid 60s and this IS how l shop now.
