I don’t even think the younger generation are less tribal. I remember speaking to my friends around the 2017 elections and their reasoning was purely tribal. We were only aged 19 and they were debating just like their parents, so as a country these issues are going to be with us for a while.

I think the focus should be on the domestic purchasing power of currencies and not cross-border comparison .....coz how then do we explain Kenya shilings to Nigerian nira 1-5 when Nigerian economy is four times Kenyan by GDP. Kenya shillings might seem superior paired with uganda.....but how much items can u buy with ksh 1000 in uganda compared to kenya? Id rather Kenya to TZ exchange at 50-1.........when our ksh 1000 would have a higher pp domestically than TZ.
