Etho Plays Minecraft - Episode 466: Clock Tower 

etho you can use tripwire to power large walls of pistons individually. Simply place blocks behind all the pistons and then tripwire hooks on the blocks. then just extend the wires back as far as you need to and use armorstands or minecarts to power them.

Put a bear in a boat, use it as proximity sensor. *Minecraft*

If only placing a clock in an item frame could send a comparator signal strength based on what time it is...

Is it okay that I don't even like minecraft anymore but still watch etho?

Let's be honest -- did ANYONE think that the polar bears would make it a whole episode?

I like Etho's videos because he's a true minecraft player, he doesn't just 'hey let's pick this seed so I've these spawners and these biomes to spend 100 h to build crazy farms and stop playing that world'. Etho starts a world in order to live there, to make a good place to play in it, a place to show his imagination. He doesn't only watches tutorials on how to do that machine or that farm, he usually invent them by himself, by testing and experiencing that world that we call minecraft! Good job Etho you're the real MVP!

You should make it a cuckoo clock- every 12 hours or something some pistons below the clock open a door and a little extender pops out with a bird thing

Minecraft is a game that starts to get "old", yet it's still as popular as ever. The Age of Minecraft doesn't seem to end... which makes me happy. Etho's building a symbol of time, a clock, making me think back up on when I first started playing. I still play to this very day. Etho keeps impressing me... this redstone is simply awesome. I enjoy every second of this series. Please, -keep it up! :)

Please upvote so etho sees. An idea for making the clock tower hands more visible: Replace the blocks bring pushed out by redstone lamps and move the face of the clock 1 block forward and made of redstone blocks so the lamps light up when the pistons extend. You can then cover the redstone blocks on another block so it looks nicer. Great video as usual, thanks. (Also I left a comment on your modded series about the thaumcraft auto crafting system that may be helpful)

Tbh i think it's really awesome that Etho just made a clock out of a series of 0s and 1s. Thats pretty much all that redstone is when it comes down to it, and you have to be a friggin genius to do this kinda stuff

For all of you who don't know, Etho lives in Toronto. In one of his Mindcrack episodes when he was showing underground sound to vintagebeef, they started talking about a music store in Toronto. It only makes sense they live in Toronto to both know that store.

hey etho you should make like a zoo/ habitats for mobs lets say behind glass you have a fake village with two villagers in there or a ice berg in water with polar bears on it or a swamp with a witch hut and witches in it just thought it'll be cool

For the clock, How about using slime blocks to reduce the amount of pistons, which in turn reduces the amount of wiring?

What about using an actual clock (the craftable kind) for syncing? Don't they give redstone outputs from item frames? I would have thought so. Also, couldn't you use slimeblocks to push multiple blocks out to form the clock hands with less budding issues?

Dear Etho, I've been watching your videos since you started on season 2, and I literally watched, all your let's play until recently when I got bored of Minecraft. Today I saw your video on my suggested list, and thought to myself, you are the one that made me watch your lets play because of your creativity and your bright ideas, so I thought why not just watch your video one more time just to check on you? One thing I've noticed, you've got a little less active and it makes me feel old cause back in the days you were those super hyped guys that makes the video fun to watch (and it still is fun to watch now), and now you've probably grown older. Hey Etho, I love your clock tower. I made one a while back and it was awesome seeing how you solved the same problems differently. My clock only had 4 positions, 12, 3, 6, and 9 because it was a small area to build in and instead of using pistons I used Redstone lamps that light up. The main difference was that instead of using different amounts of items in droppers, I used 1 item that loops around. I would send a pulse every 1/4 of the day to a line of droppers and the item would move up. Then I used comparators to tell what dropper it was in and that would send the signal to the display. It doesn't even need a reset because at the end of the dropper line hoppers take the item back to the start. We did, however, use similar designs for the daylight sensor reset. Thanks again for the fantastic video!

Etho, I love the Clock tower idea, I love clock towers. I think a great addition to the clock tower would be to have note blocks hooked up to day light sensors at common points in your base to ring like a bell clock tower every minecraft hour, as if you were hearing the clock tower ringing from that part of your base.

Etho your different approach to playing, as you explained in the end, is what keeps me watching these video's and they are almost the only minecraft videos i watch. I hope they do some more on the win10 version soonish and wrap up the Java one, so i can also finally enjoy the game again on a regular basis. But you sir, bring joy to my live with every video you put out there, and have put a smile or question mark on my face nearly every time. I tip my hat to you and i hope you can keep this going for quite some time still, i will watch every minute of the video while eating my snacks ;)

Hey Etho, I just want to say that although your main goal is to introduce ideas and be creative to inspire people, many of us long time viewers don't really play Minecraft anymore or has very little time to do so, but for some reason I personally always watch this series, as the only minecraft series I watch now. So that means, that overall as an entertainer or content creator, you're doing an amazing job to amuse a large viewer base, explaining everything you do at an astonishing fashion, to keep us oldies up to date. Keep doing what you're doing, I don't think I will ever lose interest in this kind of series.
