Perfect demo and tasty playing. I was planning to sell mine (I'm scaling down, so I have to get rid of quite some stuff) but I'm reconsidering now. Strongest point to me is how it responds to dynamic playing.
I've just got a shipping notification for one of these and it scares me a bit because it might make me feel I've wasted my time with all other overdrives. And I mean Amps as well as Pedals. This is a stunning demonstration. And a great choice of song. Thank you Daryl.
Very nice! Just ordered an HRM version of this. It was tough to pull the trigger, having never played one before, but I think it will be great! Videos like these were a great help in my decision.
Your playing is wonderful and inspired!! Also your approach this demo of adding just a little more gain each time really shows the pedal and what it does. THANK YOU. (Now I can spend my $570 with more confidence) 😳
Hey thanks m@n great stuff that you R exposing here ...this preamp stomp is so mellow... Keep up with that Jazzy Tone it work like a charm with this preamp ^^
Hi Daryl - I have 2 of these - simply outstanding. Everything you said is exactly why I have these. The backing track. How can I get my hands on that? Great for me to learn some riffs against that track. Thanks for this awesome demo! Go Ethos and Go Robbie!
Very nice demo Daryl really ! sounds very smooth great! Bravo!. Could you please tell what model of hot rails seymour duncan you are using? STHR 1N and STHR 1B?
Hi Daryl, great tones straight into the Mac. Are you running into the first or 2nd gen. Apogee One? i'm looking at the more recent model for my Mac & possibly the Ethos too for practice and direct in recording with Logic Pro.
How much does this one cost? Which sounds better going through guitar amp or into a PA or recording console? Which one is more versatile, or has better tones, this one or the Ethos Clean II? IS there any advantage to either one? How good would this one sound with a Stratocaster and a 68 Fender Twin reverb or a 65 Fender Bassman with JBL D120F speakers? What is better buffer or bypass?
Shinobu Ito Thanks! The Apogee shouldn't be adding any compression, and I wasn't running a compressor, so I can't say for sure what you're hearing on your end. Might be the natural voice of that Tele with those pickups.
steve woody Yup, that's straight into GB. No amp sim at all. The Ethos is buffered, so I can't say for certain that it's not influencing the guitar tone even while disengaged. If it is it'd be minimally.
You can order it set up either way, or, for $79, get a switch installed on the left side to toggle between the two modes. In this case it appears that he ordered it with the TLE option, but without the switch. Appearance wise, there is no difference. After listening to some of the other videos I can hear a pretty big difference in the low end clarity, and I much prefer the TLE, so I'm going to order one just like this one.
