Hello everyone and welcome, thanks for joining!
Abu Dhabi has finally opened the much awaited and delayed Terminal A and as a resident of the UAE I just had to take a flight from there! And what better than to take a flight on their flagship route to London Heathrow on the A380?
In this video we’ll visit the new 3 story high Etihad Business Class Lounge, board the aircraft directly from the lounge and experience the award winning Etihad service.
Join me on this memorable experience and let’s see how the Etihad A380 compares to other Gulf A380’s on the most important route from the major Middle Eastern hubs.

Seeing the exterior of the new terminal at 20:47 reminded me of a scene in Mission Impossible 7. Still in awe thatTom Cruise ran on the rooftop of that terminal. Thank you for the content. Great and comprehensive as always.

How do you know where the planes passing you in midair are going/coming to/fro? I know you use flightradar24 but it doesn't work in the air without an internet connection?

You can use a playback function back in time! And many airlines have internet connecitons.

Mooie begin tune 😙 Ik vond al dat je Emirates Airlines aan het verwaarlozen bent.😉 Je verslag is zoals steeds excellent! De landing is een beetje hetzelfde onlangs van Doha naar AMS. Pas op het laatste moment grond in zicht. De Indische jonge man die op de buitenste stoel zat, vroeg me om de landing te filmen op zijn GSM. Met veel plezier gedaan uiteraard. Psje: Upgrade naar business van Denpassar naar Doha, vlucht 00.10h. Eerste wat ik moest weten, hebben ze cognac Frapin. Ja hoor dus om 01.00h cognackje voor het slapen gaan😂

Absolutely stunning review and video, wow wow what a product no surprise as I have always loved the look of the Etihad Business class product very crisp and welcoming atmosphere. A airline I would love to experience one day business would be a bonus 😍 of course but I’m sure any class is of high standards. The new terminal and lounge looks unbelievable very beautiful. Bless you Alex for referring to me! Very pleasantly surprised! Awesome! Here in Northland we are blessed ard winning wines like Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. I live in a township called Kerikeri. Subtropical and fantastic rich soil for wine growing pplus known for kiwi orchards. Stunning! Anxiously we all were waiting for your next video, but everyone will agree it was worth the wait! Great views of new terminal and food top notch and ready for growth! I also really appreciate your honesty about minor negatives on Ethiad! By showcasting it I fully agree and I'd say Emirates still holds the lead! Booked to arrive in DXB mid April on the way to CPT for 2 nights and back again end of April for one night in DXB. Would be so good to meet you!! You have my details! Hi Alex, great trip report. Finally, it is possible to fly Etihad to avoid their horribly congested and unfriendly old terminal. I hope they will work on a economy transit experience which was very much less comfortable then with Emirates, Qatar and SIA.

Due to space they had to build up and that meant more floors preventing a single layout open floor plan like their main gulf competitors. That’s a potential weak point. It’s nice but nothing wow about it like Doha with all the art, and nice dinning setting. Not innovative like the seating options at Amsterdam, Finnish or Stockholm airports business class renovations recently. Even AA/BA recent renovations of their lounges in NY JFK are nicer in my opinion.

Thanks for the very interesting comment, you’re right. But they had so much time to plan ahead and do it perfect yet they didn’t. Quite the waste. It’s not bad but still it isn’t great. Now you made me want to visit those lounges you mentioned.. I’ll see if I can detour and fly via those hubs..!

I know it might sound odd but I felt somehow a bit disappointed with Terminal A at Abu Dhabi, I guess this is due in part to the very high expectations after so many years waiting. Do not get me wrong, It is still a great terminal, better than most terminals out there, I just thought the WOW factor would be substantially higher. I had hopes that it would be revolutionary in some way, changing our perception of what a terminal building could be, but not really I guess...

I feel you my friend.. I had the exact same thing happening to me. I had such high expectations and it was a bit underwhelming. They had the chance of making something so great and they didn’t. 12:58, The GP7200 engine is similar to the PW4000 on United airlines, Boeing 777-200, but I know it's different aircraft type.

The crew at Vistara politely declined it and informed me its against their company policy. You don’t have to bring anything, but if you do I think it is a nice gesture. If they ever ask me why I always respond “why not” or that I never go anywhere empty handed. Which is true. I never do 😊

But the service for Such a short flight is impressive especially in the a321lr lie flat seats huge screens for a321 and all the other essentials for a long haul. But on a short haul flight

Fantastic video! This time it was a long wait but it was worth it as one of the best videos came out! The Terminal A is nothing special is still way behind great airports like Singapore, Yogyakarta (Indonesia) and Doha. I was very surprised that you took a seat closer to the aisle than the window. Etihad is now really seeing potential in the A380 and will also send it to JFK from summer 2024. Also, it was fun to hear your voice as you have never talked in a video before.

brilliant trip report ! i rate etihad luxruy and emirates super luxury airline . qatar is also competing them but i rate qatar in between luxury and A+ airline.
