29th April 2024 - Taihoro set sail into a building Easterly with a rain shower passing through. Setting off in 12 -15 knots it built to 16-24 (at Bastion Point.) A nice bear away saw the speed shoot up. A few gybes downwind then back onto the wind to tack into the mist and head off behind Browns Island and then out the Motuihe Channel.
After filming the AC40’s the AC75 looks slower but being bigger it is deceptively fast. I bet the helmsmen need windscreen wipers in the rain!
