It is very enjoyable to go along with you both on your adventures and also learn about a new dessert! Looks so delicious! 🍓 Your tablecloth is beautiful.
You know how much I adore your videos of the beautiful places you treat us with, but it’s just so special to be at home with you. My favorite dessert is a berry gateau, so I’m certain I would love Eaton Mess. Absolutely love the table cloth, goes wonderfully with your floors too. ❤❤❤
What a great video! I loved the visit to the pub, especially looking over its nice menu! Eton Mess sounds delicious, and I really like that you two take the time to make the enjoyment of your dessert special by using your beautiful tea set. You guys are adorable! Thanks for another terrific video!!
Hello, dear new friends! I feel so privileged to be included in your travels, and to be your houseguest! Your English is impeccable! Your perspective is so positive and engaging! I so enjoy your videos! Thank you for a truly happy and relaxing part of my day. Now my fellow trauma surgeons are fans as well! Best regards from Connecticut, USA.
A bientôt. Prenez soin de vous.❤❤
Спасибо за такое познавательное видео ! Обязательно попробую сделать такой обалденный десерт. Скатерть красивая, я люблю зелёные тона , очень понравился чайник в горошек. Кирстен и Йорг на ваших видео отдыхаю душой ❤
That looks very delicious! WE have a dessert here in the United States with sweetened strawberries over a vanilla cake with sweetened "double cream" as you call it. WE call it Strawberry Short Cake.
Lovely video and thanks for showing us me the Cholmondeley Arms, I didn’t know it had re-opened, the food there has always been good. I love the atmosphere there and can still imagine it has a school house. Your meals looked good but not a patch on your lovely homemade desserts, they looked very professional. Well done. I am so glad your tablecloth arrived and indeed it looks fabulous, very good choice, compliments your kitchen well.
Wonderful! From the cozy Pub, with such delicious looking food, to the lovely & charming house nearby! Then watching you prepare & enjoy the delectable looking Eton Mess dessert, which up until today, surprisingly, I had actually never heard of. This, along with sharing your lovely new 'strawberry thief' William Morris tablecloth, which is very apropos, considering its arrival just as you were making the Eton Mess actually with strawberries. A lovely coincidence! Thank you for sharing another delightful experience & how to make this deliciously 'messy' dessert.
@@KirstenJoerg My pleasure! I can imagine! Such a delightful 'coincidence' & surprise! Now, each time you use your pretty new tablecloth, you will have another happy memory to cherish. I was thinking how wonderful it would be to sit down with William Morris & ask him to share his inspirational thoughts on his beautiful, creative & unique Artwork & designs. That would certainly be an afternoon tea to remember! The artistry in your beautiful tablecloth, especially, reveals his sweet & delightful imagination & by his naming it 'strawberry thief.' I was curious as to what kind of birds they actually were. So I read that he patterned this design on the thrushes who used to steal the strawberries from his kitchen garden. LOL. Indeed, he certainly was a Marvel! Have a lovely day!🐦🍓
Hello Kirsten and Joerg I found your channel a week ago and since then I am watching your videos on daily basis. You both are very peaceful; although, at times I feel you tell a lot about the products. I like the Joerge's humble and polite manner and Kirsten's smile.
Thanks so much! Can you explain what you mean by 'tell a lot about the products' because we have only done one paid sponsorship in all those years so we are a little bit confused?
I love your new table cloth! William Morris is a favorite. The Eton Mess looks scrumdidlyumptious! It's funny, every time you sit down with a hot cup of tea and dessert, I want to join you. Alas, I only have tea, and it's iced rather than hot but hot would be wonderful. I love your video "visits." There's always something beautiful, educational, and tasty! Plus your wonderful company. Thank you! 🌷💗🌷
Nous sommes tous tes heureux de vous suivre. Sans aucun doute parce que votre douceur est apaisante. Curieux que vos aficionados ne se rencontrent pas dans ce même esprit fort éloigné de reste des autres youtubeurs
Lovely video with delicious food from Cholmondely Arms and your recipe for Eton mess makes my mouth water! Lovely tablecloth from William Morris prints!
I will definitely be trying the Eton mess recipe. I have heard of it but before your video I didn’t know what it was. Looks delicious! Thanks for sharing.
Hello, I’m going to make this dessert. It looks fresh and gourmet. Thank you for the idea and your all videos. You make the world and my world better with your kindness. Take care ❤
Kirsten Joerg, great video. Always love the historical references to your videos. The dessert looks wonderful. Every time we watch I see Joerg and I have a lot in common. When I bake I always make a little extra for myself. Funny thing Dovie just ordered drapery for our library and they are the same as your new table cloth!😎😀. What a coincidence. Thanks for the video. Cheers Ron and Dovie
I have not tried Eaton mess but i have had it whole like a small bowl and strawberries. I forget what it's called. Straeberries on a cloud perhaps. You have dinner at the best places❤
😂 loved the story about h I w Eton mess came to be. I have always loved your kitchen the colors and everything about it and when you got your picture's that just made a lovely touch. New table cloth is pretty too.
Hello Kirsten and Joerg, always a pleasant video to share. I discovered your channel some weeks ago and I am hooked to your videos. They bring so many good things and calmness. Thank you for the outstanding content.
I adore your videos, especially the cooking adventures you have at home after being out and about to some place picturesque. I love that little mixing jug of yours and actually ran one down for myself and I love it as much as I hoped I would. I am going to make this recipe, as I love meringue, but never have I made it. My mother used to make it at Christmas every year and I remember she would add cream of tartar to stabilize the egg whites. Looking forward to your next video. I hope the rest of your week is wonderful. ~Kendra
Hi K&J! Thanks so much for introducing me to Eton Mess. I had never heard of it before and it looks delish. 🍓🤪 Definitely need to give it a whirl. I wonder if you could jazz it up with toasted almonds to help alleviate some of the “sogginess” (Joerg always cracks me up with his descriptions 😂)? 🤔 What a great Tuesday it is with your video coming out today as well as Emma Bridgewater’s new Halloween items. I have my eyeballs on the tiny Halloween Toast & Marmalade jug and super teeny blackberry jam jar. 🎃👻 They are both so super cute! Hope that you guys are having an awesome week! xoxo Christine in sunny Colorado, USA ♥️ P. S. They’re finally back to selling Hotel Chocolat items here in the States again. Yay for us!!!!! 🙌🏻🍫☕️
Thank you so much Christine! Oh I‘m sure you can, I think toasted almonds sound yummy. I need to check out Emma Bridgewater‘s new items, they sound like so much fun.
This looks so good and since I can't come to Britain to try their delicious food I think I will just try this one since it looks so easy and it surely did look good (I love strawberries)! Love that tablecloth and I noticed the green check curtains and love those. Being from the U.S. Ihad never heard of this before so thanks for sharing great new recipes for me to try.
Wow I just loved everything in this video! It was so great to see another lovely video come up. Speaking of lovely, your dress was lovely, your new tablecloth was lovely, your home is lovely, the dessert was lovely and yummy, you are lovely, and Joerg is always so dapper handsome lovely! Hugs from Mary Ann, in Delaware USA 💖
What I think that makers it a bit ‘soggy’ , fold it more careful, not to mix the merinque too much with the cream. Next time, the better. I apply rose liquor of rose water. Also an nice combination. Guten appetit 🍓🍓🍓
Really enjoyed this, so nice to see your beautiful home again. Eton mess is one of my favourites too. Another is Nigella Lawson's chocolate pavlova with raspberries and cream! I've made it four or five times now and it always goes down well in family gatherings xx
I think you mean Eton Mess. "Eton mess is a traditional English dessert consisting of a mixture of strawberries or other berries, meringue, and whipped cream. First mentioned in print in 1893, it is commonly believed to originate from Eton College and is served at the annual cricket match against the pupils of Harrow School."
I love it when you take us on your dates and share your experience. Thank you for showing me this recipe. I've never heard of eton mess until I saw your video. I can't wait to try it now!! Love seeing you guys cooking and sharing at home too!
Hi Kirsten & Joerg, I've been catching up on all your wonderful vlogs. One from 5 years ago caught my eye. If you're skin is still dry you can try Avocado Oil, (just the one you cook with) my daughter has dermatitis & after shower use that & see if it makes a difference. Highest regards Lisa😊
Hello Kirsten & Joerg ! The pub looked cozy! I would like to give the Eton Mess a try, we like strawberry pie and shortcakes too ! Joerg seemed to real enjoy Eton Mess !! hahaha . The tablecloth is wonderful , love it !! until next time ! Paula from USA
Usually its layered like trifle so this recipe is different, less mixing or its mushy, yes you want some held back to the top and also you want the crunch through out so mix less, looks yummy. Making your own meringue is always nicer.
Joerg thoroughly enjoyed left over Eton mess in the bowl 😂 that reminds me of my boys when I used to make cakes. Love your pretty tablecloth and the cute little milk jug ❤ So happy your Eton mess was yummy 😋
Kristin ... I love your style of decorating ! ... do you still live in the pink house you did a video on years ago ? ... Have you ever thought about doing a video on German decorating and Englisg decorating, comparing the two ?
I‘m afraid but we have never lived in the pink cottage but spent New Year’s there with our godson Luca. He came to visit us and we spent a week in Devon in a holiday cottage.
You don't want to be storing meringe in preserving jars, eton mess needs to be eating more or less straight away, or the sauce will soak the meringe and take away the crunch. It'll still be flavoursome but don't expect the different textures if stored this way.
Channel Darren McGrady, has an Eaton Mess video, he was the chef for Princess Diana and the Queen. He always has interesting comments of his memories of the Royal Family while he is cooking. I like big pieces of meringue in mine, added last minute.
Do Germans make Schaum torte like the Germans in Wisconsin do? (I guess not - just googled it.) It’s meringue based. I love all the ingredients of Eton mess yet have never made it. I must get on that soon! Thanks for spurring me to do so. You’re making me hungry.
It looks really yummy! I will absolutely try this dessert😋 The new beautiful table cloth is perfect in your kitchen! I also love your dress! I’ve seen it in a previous video and I just have to ask where is it from? Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪🤗
🙋🏻♀️ Hello Kirsten & Joerg. Talking about Eton mess, I was told on great authority, that the story is true, and it was two college boys who were carrying, the Eton mess and whom had dropped the pudding. 😂 Funny.
I am going through a rough patch as well, and Kristen and Jorge videos are so, I don't know how to explain it...but calming like you said. I love them, and their videos.
@@reginagurganus3064 Thanks so much! I know exactly what you mean. I just lost my beloved Mum and it's so so hard. She loved our videos and we dedicate each one to her. We know how it feels when you're looking for some escapism and hope our videos can provide it. Sending you much love.
I am a German living in london for the last 60 years. My favourite desert is eaton mess. I add real vanilla to the cream and some natural liqueur like raspberry or even some sloe gin when available . I leave the meringue pieces larger and only fold them in 1 hour before serving. Therefore it is not so mushy. May be you can try this.
I am german and lived in London for about 6 years...being a classical ballerina I took masterclasses at a school nearby Covent Garden and lived with irush nuns in Gower Street. The cook introduced me to the Eton mess and I LOVED IT!!!!! It is not only very delicious but healthy too...and another variation of it is called PAVLOVA-after the famous ballerina.... Kirsten and Jörgs videos are an absolut delight for me.... All my cherrished memories come to life I gad to leave London-because of marriage. ..and I am not complaining-because of my 2 wonderful sons.... But London with all rhat creative spirit us forever in m heart. So are the britischen people/country/food/ ... and thanks to the wonderful videos of K&J ...I am transported into al that I used to love
@@happyday8280 😮OH NO, I totally disagree...Jörg is hilarious and his humour is delightful. Kirsten has a keen sense of humour but easily breaks into bouts of hearty laughter, that is totally infectious!! They are both such fabulous fun, love them heaps.💖💓💖
We have tiny meringue cookies in various flavors in the US so we use them for our Eton Mess. My fav is the chocolate meringue with chocolate chips. The chips add a bit of texture to the dessert. We just cheat and use the mini cookies crumbled with fresh fruit (we love raspberries with the chocolate) and whipped cream. So quick, easy, refreshing, and, needless to say, delicious! We put it together at the last moment so it doesn't get mushy.
