The Ninja Turles cut in for that song on EO2 was cracking me up. I totally agree, that sounded like some Konami arcade sounds 100%. They also use that sound in Sunset Riders for arcade as well

55:00 is so great. Time isn't slowing Yuzo down even a little. I sat and listened to this for half an hour the first time it played in the game...dude's an all-time legend!

Same! It was my first EO game and I was actually not expecting a theme change but this hit me so hard that every battle took like 3 times as long cuz I kept listening to this track. Very memorable for me

Yeah there are actually several arcade games by Konami that use that sound. Sunset Riders is another one that comes to mind for me

So beautiful... only recently truly got into the series (had 1 on DS for the longest time but couldn't get past Stratum 1 until I recently restarted with newfound determination... only to forget to have a Magic User, forcing me into long, annoying fights for most of the game.) I've only really beaten 1 and am currently working on 2, though I own 1-4 (the original DS versions of 1 and 2). I highly recommend playing the original DS version of 1 simply because it's more difficult than the 3DS remake, and the series is kind of known for its difficulty. Beating the original Primevil fight was truly one of the most difficult fights I've experienced in any JRPG, but it feels so rewarding when you finally kill it that it was well worth the hours of hair pulling agony that it took to get there. For anyone curious about my team I had when I finally beat Primevil: Front Row: Dark Hunter (Whips) Protector (full on tank) Back Row: Survivalist (With highest DPS) Troubador (Bows) Medic (full heal setup, no caduceus) Everyone had their highest tier weapon

+lecorbak I've been listening to EO 1,2,3 and 4 osts for the last month now :p I'm really into game soundtracks and I think this is one of the top 10 on my list for sure.

Eubacta in my top 10 OSTs, Etrian Odyssey III is 1st, with Final Fantasy VI 2nd. EO1 is something like 4th or 5th. and I'm pretty sure Undertale will be on my top 10 when I will have played the game.

36:31 eo3's boss music often doesn't seem sampled correctly in most youtube videos, but it is probably my favorite boss theme 1:01:28 also the start of this is some metroid prime shit

@@ellolired3994 Yep. He consistently arranges tracks for all sorts of titles, like Guile's Theme in Street Fighter for Ultimate, as well as the Pokemon X/Y trainer battle in 4, Wrath of the Reset Bomb from Kid Icarus Uprising in the same game, etc etc.

God I need all of the etrian odyssey games now, thank god I don't live in Europe :P. I've only played untold but I love it so much I think its safe to say I really love this series.

EO4 is better than Untold imo. Just because you have a airship to explore 5 different worlds. No floor jump though... They usually make every place 3 floors though. Its sometimes a little drag, but I loved 4, even if Untold was awesome.

I already have both and love them I kind of like untold better though because I really like games with stories. I mean yes EO4 had a plot but it wasn't the same.

Kain Liason I prefer the older DS versions because the musics are better (especially EO3), but EOU has the original tracks. so for people who never played EO1, you should buy EOU instead of EO1. I'm happy that there's a EOU2, even if EO2 is not the best game of the franchise.

Kain Liason If you loved EOU because of the story, then it's unlikely you will like the older games because they're harder and have way less story.

it's already written in the description. yuzo koshiro didn't work on persona. but he worked on sonic 8-bit, streets of rage, shenmue II, castlevania portrait of ruin, kid icarus uprising, criminal girls, etc... a lot of video games one of the best artist.

With the releases of Etrian Odyssey Untold 1 and 2 every game has an orcehstred soundtrack now, aside from 3, wich is a shame cause 3's would sound so much better that way.

I don't know what exactly he used for the music, but I think that's actually not the sega genesis. I think I've read it in the past, but I don't remember what exactly. maybe it was on his soundcloud.

QuassarSonic2010 "Ecstasy" especially sounds like it would be a final-level or semi-final-boss theme in a Genesis shooter game like Thunder Force. Fitting, as EVERY encounter there is at least as bad as a boss in the prior stratum on first encounter.

Nah, I would say all of the stratum boss & final battle themes (except EO3) go with generic orchestration. That's pretty bad, and it could happen again in EO5, yo.

@@daxternator2117 ...Y'all hear Battlefield - Storm and say "generic ochestration"? Not to mention the Leitmotifs in 4... The 5th stratum has the same melody as the first song you hear in the game, and so does the Final Boss theme.
