In case you don't see the map (see only a black, blank editor space): 1. On the top menu look for "Camera". Click the blue bird icon. 2. You might notice the skybox. 3. Hold the right button on your mouse, and using W, A, S, D fly to a part of the map 4. You are now not under the map. Yay! Took me a few minutes to realise that this was going on :D Edit: If you are familiar with the free cam, the controls are essentially the same
Another quick way to get out of the void. Open command line and type "goto city_name". As long as you typed the name right, it will take you to that city.
Very helpful tutorial, I'm currently working on my first ever map mod which will include many curvy roads made for bus driving, I've already made well over 200 km of roads :D
I wanted to make my local industrial Estate ( Stakehill Oldham Lancashire UK ) for years and very grateful for this tutorial as it makes things on what easier to follow I thought it would be extremely hard but as I do this on ARMA 3 nearly every night then it's not as hard as I first thought but I do wonder how you get the map integrated into promods ? And hopefully expand it as there's three industrial estates near me I would also like to finally put the Little House on the Prairie ( truckers slang for the farm house in the middle of the M62 Farm ( Stott Hill Farm ) was built in 1738 the motorway was started in the early 1960s and back in the day people said it was because of the Farmer didn't want to move it actually wasn't that it was to do with the geography of it they couldn't lay a motorway on a steep slope
@Stefan E. With an edited sign with a road number (i.e. when I sign up), can it be given to the GPS? Because I have just found a guide to editing a road sign ( with a road number) , but there it is not shown how to give to the GPS :( Because I would like to make my own road number, but without using this ETS2 SCS Extrator ; Can you help me with this? What do I have to do? Please reply.
Hello bro just bump to your channel and this is great! Can i request to you if you can make a tutorial on how to do the following 1. How to Put google map BG to map editor 2. How to capture the correct Google map scale to synchronized with the map editor scale 1:1 or whatever map scale planning to create Hope you have a time to help all of the aspiring new map editors ❤️
I don't see the terrain that you have on your tutorial, and it shows a photo of the map and i can't add anything to it is it a loading issue or is there a way to fix it? (1.48)
It is a very clear tutorial and I learned the basics quite fast but I have a few questions, what do I do after I saved the map? how to implement the map in game? I want to build my own company terrain to the existing map (I use promods also)
Hi. I want to try to map a piece of east Asia from scratch and connect it to the original map with a ferry and maybe in the future with a road if I continue working on it. I set up the shortcut to open the editor, but before I start, I want to make sure I execute the location correctly. If I remember correctly, I used to have a mod with a South East asian country years back, but it's location on the game map was in the atlantic ocean. How do I get to my needed location so it appears accurately as in real life? Do I have to enter corrsinates somewhere, or do I need to manually calculate the distance based on the scale compared to real life? If you have a tip for this, you'd save me so much time, and maybe even boost my enthusiasm right now.
@Stefan E. How to create your own road number in the map editor for ETS2 so that it is then displayed in GPS? Is it in this guide? At what minute? Please reply.
@Stefan E. Because I don't have ATS Extractor :( How can I have it, if I have SCS Extractor, there are only 2-3 folders/files there, or I don't have any there :( and how can I have more of these folders? Because I would really like to make my own road number in the map editor for ETS2; What should I do? Is there an easy way? Please answer.
I have a problem. When I load the map from the editor by doing "run map" it works, but if I try to access it from the game it crashes immediately after loading. I don't have any other mods. How can I solve it?
Hi, you said the "mod" folder has to be empty but if you have already map mods and trucks in it, is it possible to create another empty mod folder to run the editor (in order to not to loose all my map combo by deleting them) ? Have a nice day.
How could I go into a map mode and move the paper position on the ETS2 map? More precisely, I want to put a map mode that overlaps with the default map or with another map mode, but both go into the game simultaneously. I want to move the map that is displayed on top of the other, to move its position in such a way that both maps are displayed entirely in the big map of ets2 without one map being on top of the other. That's what I was thinking, how could you go into a map mode and change the mode's position on ets2's big map?
How do you edit an existing map mod. I'm trying to make a road connection from Road to Asia (Pakistan) - Road to Southeast Asia (Dawei Burma). Is there any way to load those maps to connect them?
Hello. What I did here in the tutorial will not be published. If you meant that you want to help us with mapping, that's great! You can join our server here: discord.gg/GkrCGjm
Hey, nice tutorial. I have a small question concerning sectors. When we saved our map and then selected the sectors that we edited, do we need all the sectors files in our .scs file? (aux, base, data, desc). Thanks in advance!
@@stefanxcz Okay thanks but I want to create a mod where I'm editing the different DLC Maps. Therefore, for my mod, if someone does not have a DLC, he will still see the edited sectors but with nothing around it. So is it allowed to publish a mod where there is DLC map part? Otherwise, I can cut my mod into several ones and make a DLC mandatory for each part
Salut Stefan ! Mie imi da crash programul dupa ce il deschid , adica eu il deschid se incarca putin si dupa se opreste Ai vreo idee cum pot rezolva ???
@@stefanxcz I managed to get into the map editor, and I can edit or add objects. But I don’t see the option to edit the width of the roads... Any hints? A greeting!!!
Making a service/company/gas station icon without materials (buildings, models) added to it requires Blender Tools, in which you have to load a service model and remove it's textures for example. Or you can try to download and implement FLD's prefabs in your map, which contain service, gas and weight icons.
Hi thabks for this tutorial. If I want to create a new map from scratch do I need to add -edit Europe? and also how can i choose the map scale? for example I want to create a 1:1 map scale? 👍
Hi there. At one point when I was editing, all of the terrain, roads etc. just disappeared and I was left with the map of Europe underneath, and I can't get the terrain and roads and stuff back. How do you get it back? Thanks.
Hi, I want to ask some questions. When I use ETS2 editor , I want to adjust the view distance of item ,but I click the Blue[?] or purple[?] , nothing happened , what should I do that the window of model item properties can appear again , thanks !!
I sadly don't have the time at the moment to get started. I want to revamp the areas that SCS hasn't yet. Hopefully a lot of my questions will be answered (like how to open console on Windows 10 because ` does nothing).
@@stefanxcz I have them both set to 1. I'm aware how to turn them on. But when i use ` (which is the button to open the console), i can't type "edit" or "goto city_name". Nothing happens when pushed. Just like how g_traffic can have a value of 0 for no traffic and 10 for max traffic.
Hey, I have learned a lot from you but I want to make a standalone map but I try and try but doesn’t work I can create the map but then I don’t know how to make it work on ets 2 . Can you help me please ? Thank you
Just write "-edit" (without Europe) so that you open an empty map module, build anything you want, Save As > set any name you want. Then, if you close the map editor, you have to put "-edit MAPNAME", where MAPNAME is the name you picked when saving.
Existe maneira de editar apenas um país? Queria editar Portugal por exemplo, mas tenho que carregar sempre todo o mapa? Que depois quando exportar as alterações vai ficar pesado devido ir com todo o mapa.
@@stefanxcz Is there a way to edit only one country? I wanted to edit Portugal for example, but I always have to load the whole map? That later when exporting the changes it will be heavy due to going with the whole map.
@@stefanxcz I'll try next time! Also, - if I can ask it - Roads have green and red dots. For some reason the roads not wanting to attack to prefabs and vica versaThe road I want to attack to a prefab has green dot, while the prefab's dot is red. What I did wrong?
@@AngryAvocado90 try connecting it the opposite, like, connect the prefab with the road instead of road with prefab. You can also try holding ALT while trying to connect them, that helps me in some cases.
@@stefanxcz Can't connect green square to red circle, but alt worked perfectly! Thank you! Sorry, but one, last question: If I modify the city, how should I use it, after I finished? It's going to overwrite the entire Europe map, or I can specify what areas I defined? I only want to rework one city, the entraces and exits will be the sam,e but I want to rework everything else to reflect the real life counterpart.
