Thank you for this video. I've just opened my very FIRST Etsy store and believe it or not...I just got my FIRST SALE yesterday. Fingers crossed my SEO is up to par. Peace from Wisconsin!
Thank you so much for this! This was very informative! I just got my first $1,000 in sales but I want to get everyday sales and really build my shop up!
@@KateHayes it took some time but I really want to be able to thrive so I cant stay home with my babies like you! i sell customized clothes and onesies!! I love it so much! I am taking the tips you mentioned in this video right now to update my listings!!!
@@KateHayes www.etsy.com/shop/MichelleLisaInc. and I just got an order today ! I swear it is because I have started implementing your tips for this video today! I haven't had a sale for a week!
In my 10 years of being on Etsy and paying for so many expert's advice, in just a short time watching just two of your videos, I have learned more in understanding Etsy's ranking etc. process. So clear and understandable! Would have loved to have this info when I first started out! Thank you so much for clearing up some of my confusion!!!
@@lonabcreations2575 Wow! I’m so happy to hear that our videos have helped!! That’s truly our passion is to break through confusion to help others have straightforward strategies for success! Thanks so much for watching!! ❤️
Thanks for great video! Just a quick question, how many inbound link can we put to our one listing? And which method is best to put other listing?copy & paste other listings link? Cuz sometimes the link is so long !!😁
Thank you Kate for all this information. You are such a great help with your information. Love your videos. My husband and I have a shop. DEFENDERSofFREEDOM for several years and sales are up and down. So happy to find you. I have to get on my husband about the SEO as I dont think he puts enough on the items. He pretty much does the computer work and makes the clocks, mugs, etc and I do the embroidered stuff. Wondering if we should have 2 shops, 1 for my items and the other his? Would love your feedback if you do that sort of thing. Again thank you for all you are doing. Much appreciated.
The video was really well explained and useful, thank you! But just a little thing, in case you don't know or for new people seeing the video, descriptions don't matter to Etsy for ranking the products, just for the customer experience. Maybe is something new, I'm not sure, but in the recent Etsy Summit (in June 2021) that I saw, they talked about that and said that the description part was a myth, that only keywords & titles matter for SEO.
You have been BY FAR the most help to me. You explain things so well for dummies like me who dont know all the big tech words from experience. I’ve never had to worry about SEO so I’m not familiar with all the terms and you break it all down so well. I feel like I have been drowning trying to figure it all out but you have eased my mind and i feel like i can tackle it all now. Thank you SO SO SO much from the bottom of my heart and please keep up the great content!!
Thank you so much for this help! I am planning on setting up a crochet store on Etsy and this video has really helped! You’ve earned yourself another subscriber!!! 😊
Phenomenal video. I have had my shop for less than a year but have only sold 2 handmade jewelry pieces. Im adding vintage jewelry going forward and will incorporate your tips!
This video was super helpful!! We are super close to $1000 in sales! I know it’s not huge, but we have grown so much this year and it’s honestly crazy to think about! I love these videos so much and they have been so helpful!!
Thank you very much! This is such a science, I had no idea. A frustration of a small business is lack of help and even on your own website, if you don’t know how to do something, it is hard to talk to an actual “human”. Congratulations on your success! :)
WOW ! What a great video! thank you so much for putting this out! I have been searching and trying to learn how to boost my sales in my new Etsy shop. I started in March 2020 and while I am having fun creating things to sell, I wish I could sell more. In February, I lost my job, so now I really need to get on it. :)
Great information!!..wish you could give some examples as far as tags and descriptions...something you use for your own listings would help. I'm getting a little lost.
You’re so welcome- hope some of these strategies can help! And congrats on starting your shop! Now is a great time to start selling online. How has it gone for you so far? 😄
All Crafts Channel wow...when i first started crochet 6yrs ago your channel was the one that i used to watch all the time so i can learn..whats your etsy shop name? Amazing..🥰🥰
Thanks for all the info Kate! I’ve been a portrait artist full time now for almost 15 years and have yet to jump into Etsy. Your videos are giving me the courage to try it out! I’ve done it all the hard way as they say haha obviously the Lord has blessed my artwork and I’ve had a lot of great clients, but I’m thinking it may be that time to try out Etsy 🙏🏼
Thanks for the video, great tips! I understand more now about how my listings will be found. My biggest hurdle to get through is the incorporation of social media to help. I have never had "the knack" when it comes to fb and the like. I spend my time in the shop making. These ideas give me something to work with on the other end. Thank You
Just found your channel in the perfect time! I´m about to launch my store and Im so scared of making so many mistakes! But youve def helped me!!!!! GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR BUSINESS!!!
Love these ideas, my biggest problem I am having is trying to figure out how to spread my time, I just want to make things and not have to take pictures and listings. I think I am going to work on my listings and my seo's and see if I can up my purchases. I used to do better but took a couple years off from my shop.
Start up work is the trenches. The key is to get things done and don’t loose perspective. The good thing is that once the process is originally done, you learn how to do it more efficiently and the foundation of your shop is laid.
I have had the most trouble with shipping mainly understanding what the different shipping choices mean, how to determine which to use (like express priority vs. priority), and how to make sure that I am paying the correct amount for shipping and that I am measuring my packages correctly. I thought that I did it all right for my first order, but then I got to the post office and they just looked at me like I was dumb.
Also always looking for tips to streamline my content creation process across all social media platforms and email list etc. I don't want to spend countless exhausting hours just trying to keep up with that side of my biz, not to mention all the time it takes to actually make my products and list them and take care of all the other back-end stuff of my biz. I want to find a simple, efficient workflow so I don't spend my whole time online and can actually unplug from my phone once in a while :)
I recently started my own Etsy shop. The biggest struggle I have is understanding all the Tax stuff. Do you have any videos or advice on handling taxes?
I just started my first Etsy shop end March this year and I had an influx of followers and people visiting my shop but I’ve only managed to get 3 sales, two of which were friends. I’ve been watching your videos for the past few hours and have already learned so much!!
Hi Kate, I am new to this and im heading in the direction of opening up my first Etsy shop which has been a dream for years. Can you point me in the direction of videos of yours on how to start up? any hints and tips would be more than welcome. I love your videos, youre so inpsiring and informative. thank you xx
I am just starting out haven't created shop yet working on products, how many different items and niches to go with! Subscribed to your channel and am watching every video you have on starting an Etsy store! Thank you so much for the information, it is invaluable! You are amazing!😃❤
Thank you so much for this helpful info. My shop is new (just one month) on a hugely saturated niche where prices have dropped by half since “the bug.” I managed 30 sales but am also paying out $2 a day for ads. Going to adjust some SEO this evening taking all you have said into consideration.
I just found you channel. Very informative. I am beyond frustrated as my shop has been open for nearly a year and I have only had 3 sales. I like your idea of inbound links, but have no idea how to do that. Do you have a specific tutorial for that? Thanks for this video!
excellent video!!! i make handmade jewelry. i want to start an etsy but am a bit hesitant. i know it's pretty saturated. still, i might try. CAN i work on setting up my shop over several days and then hit "publish" of sorts? or does each listing get published immediately? and do you have a step by step on how to open shop? i WILL be watching more of your videos! great explanations and tips!
Hi Adding the cost of shipping to the item works for QTY = 1 but how do you handle a customer who purchases 2+ of the same item on the same ETSY order?
Thank you for sharing things with great value. Your videos are always very clean, undisturbed and well sectioned. Makes them comfortable to watch and follow for people with concentration issues, like me ^^
Great Advice, I find it difficult to always come up with different words for T-shirts, or my keys words are too long🤪 Makes me crazy as a new-ish seller
we're a vintage/antique preowned store on Etsy. We're in the learning on how to sell and become a successful business. I've been listen to a few of your video about giveaways and SEO. Would happen to have any suggestion our type of business on Etsy? we would appreciate any suggestion you may have to help move forward with our business.
14:40 wait, are you saying that you *should* repeat words in your titles and descriptions, like "Bead bracelet, charm bracelet, beaded charm bracelet, bracelet with charm beads"? I thought this was a bad thing? Lol, am I misunderstanding you? :)
Great video, thanks! My products are all one of a kind and mostly cannot be repeated so I cannot give free shipping as I have to send each of my products as a registered parcel with a genuine value. Also, even when I type in exact words in the descriptions, my products don't seem to come up after many pages! My first lines and descriptions are worded very accurately and carefully but I still don't get that many visits to my shop. I want to stay with Etsy but have only had 2 sales in 5 months. My products are high quality and unusual but I am not getting the traffic that they deserve. I cannot afford to do fancy advertisings as I am on a very strict financial budget at this time due to this situation. The 2nd sale, more was taken in fees and taxes than for the product. I lost out financially as I had to send the product as a registered product as I could not replace it. I spent 10 Euros more on the shipping than stated in the listing. The prices of postage especially in parcel post has gone up and very often the shipping is almost becoming as much as the product itself. I am not sure that I would pay almost as much for shipping as the product itself, so I can't expect customer to do the same!
Hi Kate!!! I'm Gabriel. Could you give a little bit of light about the question Amanda Hobson has in mind? I'm in the same situation. Thanks and all the best to all of you.
Hi, Kate. Very useful content. What do you think about Etsy option for our own website? What kind of privileges do we have with this option? Thank you!
Hey Kate! Really helpful video - I wanted to ask a question about the scoring - all of my pieces are unique - so I will never get multiple sales from one listing. Does this mean my listings will never score highly? Thanks in advance!
Hi Amanda...I´m Gabriel. Venezuelan living in Spain. I do have the same question than you have... I design just one piece of each...have you find out the answer??? It drills my head!! jeje!. Hug!!! I´m working on my Etsy shop right now. All the best to you Amanda.
One easy thing is to mention it anywhere you can! On the packing slip, thank you message after the customer makes purchase, etc. You can also go above and beyond with your packaging and even including a handwritten note or little extra freebie inside the box. Those go a long way with customers :)
Really appreciate the video. Don’t quite understand how to do the tags and title since I saw also yo keep the title simple. Do I just choose one main long tail keyword and put it in thy title and description
