I love Mr. Alessi's playing on this! But this band did him absolutely no justice.

I heard him play this with the Dallas Wind Symphony I believe March 26, or March 28. Amazing!

Is this in F or Bb Major? I can't quite tell, but those are my best guesses.

the tonal center is F, but overall I would consider the work strongly modal and freely tonal. The beginning of the last section has a tonal center of G (and imho is my favorite part of the work), but it goes back to F modal for the end.

What a tortured mess of sonic materiel. Army band should stick to Sousa marches. This sounds like something a cat dragged in...Shrodingers cat. 1 star for Alessies eyebrows.
