Peace be to you. European Parliament has passed Article 13 vote into European Union copyright law in the Digital Single Market, to protect and empower the content creators. Basically, the directive proposes that content sharing platforms and aggregators such as RU-vid, Reddit, Face book, Twitch, will be made liable for any copyright infringement that happens on their respective platforms and not only the copyright violaters.
RU-vid has taken a particularly vocal stance against the proposed change, with the firm's CEO Susan Wojcicki taking to Twitter to voice her stance: "Article 13 could put the creative economy of creators and artists around the world at risk," she propounded. The entertainment industry on movies, games and music, with most lucratic business are the ones supporting the European Union Copyright law.
