Getting the "Iberia or Iberia" achievement was the most fun I've had in this game. I highly recommend trying for it. And for an added bonus, you can try to do what I did: Have all vassals integrated and your borders contiguous by stretching all the way from Iberia, southern France, northern Italy, the Balkans, Greece, Anatolia, to Iberia.
You could also try getting this achievement while also being holy Roman emperor, a colonial nation and own big countries like France Poland Castille etc under a pu to get the most ridiculous run Never done it but might try it one day
Youngsters have it easy. Back in my days, Albania only had 1 province ! More seriously, I truly enjoy your guides, thanks for making them. Even for more experienced players like me, these guides are quite useful, as well as entertaining !
I didn't know that albania had a unique government, a 45% base defensiveness is absolutely insane, and thats not even counting the bonus to defensiveness from mountains!
imagin a youtuber making a guide for a not completely overpowering nations that steamrole everythingm thats so eazy that a todler could play it without a guide. thanks for actually looking at the other nations in this game (not incl your a-z etc, good videos :D)
@@TheRedHawk But not Vijayanagar. It should be Merwar. Not that I need a guide but Merwar is the hidden champion and underrated. Would be fun to watch you play them. Merwar never changes.
I personally recommend not releasing Byz and shifting to greek culture. Albanian is quite small, so you probably shouldn't have to unstate anything, which means that after flipping to Orthodox you can reform byzantium. This way you get to take advantage of their very strong missions and ideas, without having the starting estate debuffs. This does mean you can't get the Iberia or Iberia achievement though, so keep that in mind.
As far as I'm aware, forming another nation doesn't disable Albania from getting the achievement, it only requires you start as Albania and not be playing as a released subject, so reforming Byzantium shouldn't disable the achievement!
Wouldn't switching culture to greek and forming Byz be much more efficient after picking up the permanent +1mil power? Especially now with the new DLC ?
Well yeah, but then you can't say "RED AND BLACK I DRESS, EAGLE ON MY CHEST". It's better to just play Byzantium from the start in that case, I think. But then again, I'm just not a fan of cultural shifts in general.
@@kevinboros7427 I agree in principle but with the addition of the new mission tree and how fun it is in this spesfic case I do think it is worth it. Especially with Pronoias and things.
@@RomanGods1 Yeah, I know. But it just doesn't feel right to me. Albania is Albania and Byzantium is Byzantium, and I kind of like it that way. But that's because I tend to focus a lot more on telling a story with my games, rather than striving for efficiency all the time.
Something worth considering, first age bonus should be transfer subjects at half cost for Croatia if possible. -10% AE doesn't seem as relevant since you're splitting it across 3 religions and returning cores.
Don't underestimate the "support rebels" feature. If you are cutting the ottomans in two, you can free states like bulgaria without resorting to war, as the ottomans will not be able to reach europe, unless they get military access. Once they pop out of the ottomans, you can either fight them or ally/vassalize them, without anyone interfering.
Can someone correct me if im wrong but enforcing religion on any Anatolian/levantine OPM's you get is also potentially a good idea, since their just a single province, their capital, the liberty malus for enforcing shouldn't be an issue and they will convert Sunni land for free for you as you reconquer their cores
Be careful that Hungary may sometimes rival Aragon, it happened in my game and i could only ally them when hungary rivaled me after i have conquered all of the balkans. Dont forget to mention that the ottomans often declare to Venice, wich could be an opportunity to declare yourself instead of just waiting for the ottomans to declare a war in anatolia. I also had a test game in wich i couldnt hire a diplo rep advisor, thus i needed to improve relations with hungary and aragon in order to royal marry them. Love your guides dude
I did a couple of test runs (approx. 10) with this strat but I could never call in all three allies. Aragon or Hungary always have -60 attitude towards enemys. Furthermore even when I wait for a war in Anatolia, after 1 year a 22k stack is back at the balkans. Any advice?
