In this video titled EU4 A to Z - Can I BECOME SWEDEN As Flanders I do a playthrough as Flanders Europa Universalis 4 1.33 France. This is the series titled A to Z where I attempt to play every* nation in EU4 in alphabetical order. Of course I had to remove some nations so the challenge doesn't get too boring. In this video I play as the nation of Flanders , and I attempt to conquer Stockholm the capital of Sweden and full annex Sweden as well in order to become the real Lion of The North. As France you need to embrace the legacy of William the Conqueror, your goal? Release Normandy and vassal feed it all of England Because that would be quite boring after a point your secondary goal is to also grab Moscow, Vienna and Berlin to complete that one achievement

"Heathen tendencies" comes from a event that can happen any time you have a heathen/heretic as an advisor, you can either choose to fire them or get -25 with all nations of your religion.

As France you should embrace the ideals of "liberté, egalité, fraternité" and fight for independence of every nation in Europe before 1600. That includes the burgundy junior partners, the Kalmar union, Aragon, Hungary and Lithuania and every other personal union formed during the period. If the nation don't have the liberty desire, you must "convince" It to become free by "any necessary means"

Charles and Marie of burgundy (Yes Marie fell of her horse in Wijnendale near Torhout close to Brugge, killing her, thus the horse event in eu4) are actually buried in Brugge flanders in the church of our holy lady. + the only work of Michelangelo outside of italy is placed there too. Brugge was together with Paris the most developed city in the whole world around the 1500’s

For the "horse event" to fire you need to be at peace. Anyways for France I suggest doing the Big Blue Blob achievement, or better than Napoleon

I've had it fire during the war against France for Burgundy The problem was Burgundy had a male heir. You can't get the horse event if Burgundy has a male heir it has to either be a female heir, or no heir

France has a famous "let them eat cake" quote. Live out that quote; France is not allowed to conquer grain provinces unless you feed them to a vassal. But giving up all that food may be quite costly, enough to go bankrupt.

Charlemagne's legacy, become emperor of the HRE and own Aachen. French toast, own a certain number of grain and livestock provinces. French kiss, have some number of personal unions. Napoleon dynamite, own some number of copper-producing provinces. Baguette americaine, have at least one american colonial nation with at least ten provinces.

Heathen tendencies iirc means Burgundy got an event to remove an advisor of the wrong religion but kept them, so you and all nearby catholic countries get a negative opinion modifier against them. That said, as France you should swap places with GB to end the 100 years war

Almost all of the first suggestions for Flanders were trade-related (ie. own all of the english channel, have the highest trade income, etc) or Belgium-related and yet redhawk chose something completely different. Do you even listen to comments, Red Hawk?

The burgundy integrating event can only trigger if you are at peace. So if you want that event you have a pretty decent chance of getting it if you dont declare any wars

Hai red in A2Z france is just right on the corner so for france you can try to conquer berlin in less time possibile do to the lack of capacity in ww2 (you have to Connect EVRY province whit the main france land so you can not declare at wolg and after Bra)

Day 1 of asking you to do my custom achievement for Friesland: FREEDOM FRIES Freedom Fries: As Friesland, form the USA. Secondary goal: Set France as a rival and Humiliate/Show Strength on them in a war. (Context: France was opposed to the Iraq war, so some US restaurants renamed French fries to freedom fries. Also Friesland was in 1444 a federal Republic very similar to the USA, lacking any form of Feudalism but also not ruled by peasants like Dithmarschen. The period is also called Frisian Freedom)

You always get 4 advisors as a PU member of Burgundy as Phillipe (Burgundy's leader in 1444) is hardcoded to have "well advised" ^^ - if you know his history this is super ironic Also, attrition for enemies is an awful idea for the player as the AI is hardcapped on the attrition it can take, human players are not. So maybe good in MP but in SP attrition for enemies suuucks. Just in case people didn't know!
