I know you don't have the cash for it at that point, but if you subsidize your colonies a few gold a month, they colonize like CRAZY.

As the dominant military power in the region it's actually better to NOT annex the tribes. If you just take their land they'll move to another province which you can then take when the truce runs out. That way you can pick up the province without having to use a colonist on it.

Samtskhe seems like a fine nation to get the Redecorating achievement with. All you need to do is consecrate a metropolitan in Rome

The Colonist-Mission for the Polynesians tags is actually not that hard to get, since the requirement is not to own EVERYTHING, but to be the only tag in your Home Region basically. Since there are so few actual tags in the Oceania Region you only need to vassalize two of the maori tags and conquer the rest to get the right branch of the mission-requirements (you get some tributary cb's for all the polynesian tags through your MT, but you can just take the provinces easy peasy). The left branch on the other hand is the more difficult one to get with the 2000 Ducats required for the third mission being the hardest thing, since your loans are so small. In my opinion at least. And regarding the Monument in Micronesia: Just open the Monument Map mode, dawg! You can literally see which uncolonized provinces have a monument! xD And for Colonial Nations to make it quicker I usually make them a Self-governing Colony because they get one additional Colonist, compared to the other two colony types. Makes it just a little bit quicker. Hopefully makes your Tonga game in the near future a tiny amount easier.

Colonizing is faster if you let the tribes wander. Just take the province and wait until you can attack again, or truce break them over and over if you can not see other tribes..

I think it would've made more sense to conquer The Rock (of Gibraltar) but I guess this works too.

To be honest, I always skip the intro because I don't like it that much. I found the "welcome back to another video" where you jump straight into the game much better

A couple years back I tried playing a Māori nation, united Aotearoa, conquered Australia and colonised the Indies and California. But I couldn't form any colonial nations until I shifted the capital to Java. I then promptly lost Australia and New Zealand since it was much stronger than me and my few piddly Moluccan islands couldn't compete with the base I'd built up in the original homeland. The experience left a sour taste in my mouth. But now that I know the whole colonial nation bug has been fixed, I might just try it again.

Since Samtskhe's capital is Kars wich is in todays Turkey, make Ankara and Constantinople be yours and make the Ottomans not exist, bonus points if you stack movement modifiers for the Kars meme

I never really looked at this part of the map for this long. Holy shit things are so distorted. Islands are all way bigger and way closer to each other. New Zealand is so much farther away from the rest of Polynesia than this map makes it look.

For anyone playing asian or pacific colonialism, the strategy is to colonise Micronesia because you get s free wonder that grants you +10 settlers. And if you improve it, you get good bufs.

What's the point of annexing migratory tribes instead of taking their province? If they escape to another province, you can just steal that in a later war, while you colonize the rest. It basically is a free province later on. Or am I seeing this wrong?

Micronesia province does have the monument that helps colonization and already starts at level 1 when the province is fully colonized

This was my favorite episode. I've always wanted to try the little Polynesian guys because they seem similar to my favorite tag to play, Chukchi. I love colonization gameplay, it is nice to listen to documentaries and audiobooks while making my little tribes become big
