the reason the Burghers get the religious tolerance privleges instead of the Clergy is because the Clergy only represents your state religion, whereas the burghers are from all the religions in your nation

As Cusco, you should build CUSCOTOPIA! Since the root of the word "topia" is Greek, obviously you should build it somewhere in Greece! So as Cusco, move your capital to Greece. Preferably Constantinople but the Ottomans are scary. Crete is fine.

If you don't have the sun god achievement you could go for that i guess. Even if you have it, i think reforming inti should be part of the goal for inca/cuzco

Austria will always demand the low countries and always declare war(whether allied, in a war together, etc) unless you have more than 81% stronger army than them, which is difficult given their emperor buffs. If you do, then it's a 50/50 on what they take

I was 2k hours into eu4 before I ever played hungary and always saw them get PUed by Austria or immediatly torn apart by Poland or Ottos. I was shocked to realize they are a crazy powerful nation

Hungary->Jerusalem and then crusading against every non catholic was my favorite game literally 3 month conversions

Hungary was the second ironman campaign I ever did. Ton of fun, still one of my favorite starting countries to date

this game was just pure perfection.

Since cusco kinda sounds like costco, colonize washington dc cuz thats where the headquarters are, become a trading power and own a bunch of livestock producing provinces cuz costco is the largest retailer of beef and chicken.

19:06 It makes sense for those two to be burgher's privileges since they're all about religiours tolerance, while the clergy is all about converting religion/religious intolerance. It wouldn't make sense for those to be clergy "privileges" when they directly undermine the church's power.

Is it just me or Hungary has become more fun after the recent patches? I haven't played them in a while but I remember my experience was very painful.

Don't worry if you had lots of pain in this campaign Hawk. I also feel pain when i am Hungary. At times Iran to Czech the fridge and there wasn't anything in it which was even more pain. Just don't go Russian to the next grocery because buying stuff without a plan while Hungary can get pretty expensive. Especially if you get home with a full Turkey which has lots of Greece.

Burghers have "Orthodox autonomy" as a privilege because it makes sense for it to be a favor to heretical merchants, while it wouldn't make sense for it to be a favor to your Catholic clergy. If anything it would lower their influence and loyalty.

It's good to once in a while see a nice, cathartic campaign where you can just go ham on everything and steamroll the continent.

Hungary is a great nation. You can quickly gobble balkans and get a second gold mine. PU Bohemia and Poland. You should be able to destroy Ottos very early.

The reason enforce interfaith dialog is under the burghers is because they were often the ones advocating for religious tolerance, as opposed to the clergy which was traditionally more in favour of conversion.

Currently doing Hungary. Going for Roman Empire cause i got lucky and forced PU on France who had like half of Germany and Italy in 1550. Even as my PU they have the biggest army in the world.

19:10 Because the clergy are not exactly known for their open-mindedness and religious tolerance. Out of all three estates, the merchants would be the most likely to support tolerance. They interacted with people of various religious/cultural backgrounds more often than most others, and having more people with some basic rights means more people to conduct business with. Though of course there's many exceptions in history, certain powerful merchants have also benefited greatly from persecution of minorities because it meant the state would basically ban their competition. Still, overall, it's no coincidence that some of the stauchest advocates of freedom of religion/separation of church and state in the early modern period were from the educated middle class in the cities. And why places where the traders held significant political power were also more tolerant, such as the Netherlands, Switzerland, or the Italian republics.

Hungary is one of the nations you vassalize Byzantium without no-cbing them. Since they usually ally Wallachia and Serbia, just don't immediately rival the ottomans or your not getting military access. Though I’ve notice how much more aggressive the ottomans have been lately and almost immediately gun for Byzantium as soon as possible so it's a lot harder to vassalize them since you would immediately be at war with the ottomans once you do force vassalize the Byzantines.

No matter how many Nations you'll eat, you're still Hungary
