Hi Ludi, you pronounced "Szlachta" extremely well 😁 however, the word "sejm" you should pronounce just like "same". The letter "j" in Polish is always pronounced as "y", so in polish we say: jacht, jogurt, Jemen which obviously mean: yacht, yoghurt and Yemen 😉 Btw, is it only me who noticed that every new patch makes new countries waaay more powerful than the previous one did?

Definitely feeling the power creep with these mission trees. BB/Prussia’s mission tree was considered one of the best in the game, but it pales in comparison to Poland and Lithuania’s new trees.

Well I love the new attitude of paradox dev team in focusing on internal matters rather than just claiming lands and warfare. The thing is I like it more if diplomacy would have more options, like in peace treaties you either lose or win and can't for example give and take territory. Or something like purchasing provinces like the ability to purchase Dutch provinces from France or Spain as Netherlands or purchasing Gibraltar from Spain as England to complete mission without angering your allies (in this case: Spain) because focusing on conquering is more like a total war game. I have some other ideas as well and just wanted to at least say them somewhere

From what I understand reading the fall of Varna mission and the commented text, Restoration of Union is mutually exclusive with add as historical friend. It's likely going to be dependent on how good the relations are with the tag. Now, working off of this I have a possible strategy when it comes to these two. I call it the Multi-PU/AE is just a number strategy. The Important things are that you Rival Both Bohemia and Hungary Before you trigger the mission, wait until the union with Lithuania, First war is Restoration of Union against Bohemia, After that Do the same to Hungary. The Diplomats are going to be split between improving relations with The new unions and outraged countries for a few years. Once you get them loyal, Congratulations, you're now one of if not THE most powerful country in Europe by the mid to late 1450's That's just a hypothetical strategy for the first few years.

Just finished a Poland into commonwealth run for the first time a few months ago. I really enjoyed being strong from day one. Normally I like countries that get strong around 1500. I am really excited for the change.

Thanks for the great vid Ludi, i really love how they come up with these really cool and new ideas for missions. For example being able to form PLC at admin Tech 8 or a second Golden Era. Those are really cool , my only concern is they kind of make older mission trees so worthless in comparison. So i hope they give the same treatment to all of the big nations in Europe at least in the future. Also as a very small gripe, a historical friendship with Sweden seems really worthless since almost all of their provinces are in the Baltic trade node and that's where i usually end up collecting trade as Poland. Maybe Norway or Denmark would have been a better choice?

For me, you pronounce "Szlachta" very well. In general, you have very good pronouncation of non-english words and names. Btw this mission tree will be probably nerfed but still can't wait to play as Poland once more!

You're not butchering szlachta, you actually said it remarkably well, you're butchering sejm;) "J" is pronounced like a longer "i". Or i guess you can try pronouncing it more like seym, should come out better. As for the large amount of nobility, don't think of it as aristocracy (that would be the magnates), think something closer to samurai i.e. warrior cast. Most nobility was not wealthy, many didn't even hold any land, instead it was said that to be a noble all you had to have was your saber and a family name. Nobility was a large portion of society counting between 10%-30% of population depending on the time and region. Most of them hired themselves to family heads as muscle or had small bit of land which they worked themselves with hired help. As for the sejm it was a sort of parliament. Poland was actually a very free country where you could prosper and advance socially a lot easier than in most western countries. The sejm kept kings weak and people relatively free for the time. This worked great when the middle class was strong (made very strong and wealthy after black death since Poland went relatively unscathed and got rich of selling food to post black death ridden Europe). The fall came when the middle class waned and magnates and foreign powers started buying votes. Then the strong sejm turned into a hindrance stopping reforms and paralyzing the country at the time when all the neighbors implemented absolute monarchies which were a lot less free but a lot more efficient especially when it comes to waging war.

Besides unlocking a second golden era, "Dominate the Markets" mission also unlocks (11:30, top of the screen) a second manufactory slot for all of your provinces that are above 40 dev (which, as Poland, you probably will be able to get quite many of). Which means for example you could build a "normal" manufactory + a manpower one. Potentially, if you want to, you may also be able to expand infrastructure for a 3rd one. That, ladies and gentlemen, is potentially even more broken than a second golden era (also, you can use the first one to develop and snowball to get the mission quicker, then use the 2nd one as usual).

Meh. Another dev diary. No release date. I saw your video suggesting it would basically be "by September" but honestly if it takes much longer I'm not going to buy it out of sheer principle. Literally all other developers give a release date first, they didn't give us any indication and it's just a really weird tone conflict to be trying to gas us all up for this new release that seemingly will never actually fucking come out. Surely I'm not the only one who thinks this?

Bohemia had interregnum because Ladislaus the Posthumous was just a 4 years old and it wasn't clear if he will ever be able to become the king.

Bohemia does not start in interregnum due to the death of Vladislaus Jagiellon at Varna. Bohemia was in interregnum since the death of Albrecht von Habsburg in 1439 during the minority of Ladislaus Postumus. This is incorrectly depicted in the game, as Ladislaus should be Bohemian heir, Jiří of Podebrady the regent and only after the premature death of Ladislaus should Bohemia have the opportunity to elect Jiri as a new king.

All of these new mission trees are looking good. Im just hoping they would add a new government for Byzantium based around the Roman government and a Roman mission tree for forming it.

I think most countries do have historically-accurate and making the game way funnier and interesting mission trees but the Ottomans. We all know that they have some missions dedicated to them however they are not historically accurate and they only say conquer this and that. It is pretty clear that they do not lose their power in the late game which is not historical however 1444 of Poland or any other European country was not this overpowered and by spicing the mission trees up they will be ridiculously powerful. If they are this backed up with the improved mission trees, then the Ottomans should be too.

As a Polish person, I am extremely happy with this update. Polish commonwealth ideas could be better but winged hussars are so great. I think colour should be gold or pink.
