the test you did at 4:20 holding up a plate to read and having very clear 5 foot markers.. wow... above and beyond ! excellent testing showcase! better than the own company does
Another great comparison video! If I may make a suggestion that might add some value to your already great channel, would it be possible to do a split screen, showing both videos running at the same time? I believe that would take it up a notch. Anyway, just a suggestion. Thanks, and keep ‘em coming!
@@LifeHackster Not sure how it would make the video longer. By splitting the video and doing side by sides, you can cut in half the video length featuring those comparisons. Regardless of how you approach this, any split screen showing side-by-side comparisons will only add value to your channel.
@@SwollenBeef - I really don’t want to cut out the full screen footage though because that is where people can see and zoom in on the details..shrinking it 1/4 or 1/6 doesn’t justify and not a clear representation of the cameras video quality.
Just got the 2c pro today and attached it to the old mount for my 2c. Recorded video and took still shots with each and the pro has a noticeably better picture. Relocated the 2c to a less busy spot on my shed.
• Last year, I bought a EufyCam 2C Pro two-camera kit and installed both cameras outside the house. Recently I bought a third EufyCam 2C camera which I installed in a home studio. Although the resolution of this last camera is not as important as the first two, it does very well work.
This comparison is is up there with the most professional information videos I have ever looked at. An absolute credit to your ability to present the information in totality. Thank You
I think another beneficial test would be to test the video quality with the spot light off and with yard or separate flood lights on. This would show whether the spot light itself adds any quality value with separate floods/spotlights on. The built in spot light may not be necessary, and if their is an app option to inhibit them, that would add additional battery life before recharge is needed too. Thank you for considering this, or thank you in advance for a response if you already know the answer to this.
Thanks for your reviews, they helped me make the decision to opt for a set of 2c Pros the end of last year. Unfortunately it seems I may have had a faulty camera as only one was reliable, but I was happy with the working camera. However during my own testing to try and diagnose/solve my issue I discovered a major flaw in the system that I haven't seen mentioned. If you force a factory reset of a camera (by pressing the sync button for 10 seconds) it will remove the camera from the system and all recordings become unavailable....or in other words all a theif need do is activate this process and all record of them is gone. As I don't know the detail of the implementation of the communication between camera and hub I'm unsure if the system is susceptible to a man in the middle attack (meaning a button press may not be needed just a theifs own device) I would have expected a delete initiated from the camera to require verification from the app, these are supposed to be security products. I'm hoping Eufy can address this as it is a massive hole in the product, one that puts serious doubt in mind as to what other shortcuts have been taken in the development of the system which on the face of it looks pretty good.
A great comparison test like always dude! I made my choice on your testresult! Keep on going. The tip from Danny would make your comparison even better!
Boy am i glad i purchased the Eufy 2c with home base for $159 on Prime Day. I purchased two of them. so that makes it two home base kits "2nd Edition Home Base" and 4 "2C" Cameras. all for the same price of a One 2c Pro with homebase kit. I also took advantage of the 2k pan and tilt which were on sale Prime Day for only $34 Which was a steal if you ask me. So far I am loving the 2k pan and tilt. After seeing this review. I will now go and install my 2c cameras, because the 2c pro looks and even sounds worse then the regular 2c Cameras. I was waiting on this review and then wait till Black Friday to upgrade to the 2c Pro but after seeing this review, I will not be upgrading. I too will wait for 4k to upgrade. I really don't see 2k Picture like i do with the 2k pan and tilt Camera, which I now have 6 of those around the house to keep an eye on my dogs :o) Nothing beats subscription free. Thanks again for your sincere review,
@@Thamac15 Well, the license plate was readable throughout, not the 2C. Also more artifacts going on on the lawn. I'm actually looking at the regular 2 or 2 pro, because of the anti-theft alarm and the Sony sensor. The floodlight could be useful for people that want to scare somebody away - but I've already got motion sensor floodlights. Plus, theoretically longer battery life.
So glad I came across your channel. I did not know what to do. Ordered the 2C kit with extra cameras from prime day thanks to watching your videos and comparisons. Keep it up!!!!
@@Diesel.Trucker67 none. The notification comes very fast!!! The night vision is really great. I’ve caught lots of animals at night lol. The wifi range works great. The one in my front yard is quite far and it works perfectly. People tell me they can here me good when I talk thru them. Am going to put more up around. Right now I have 4. App is user friendly. I would highly recommend this.
@@pamwheatley9775 that's great to hear, I'm really excited to get mine! I just ordered the three camera set off of Amazon so I can keep one inside the house to keep an eye on my cat's LOL.
I just purchased the 2c system, and I am finding motion sensing to be spotty. I have noted that they struggle with motion coming straight at the camera. I have noted in your videos that you always come across the field of vision which makes sense with your setup. But my setup at home, I do not have this option. On my garage, it looks straight out down the driveway and in my back yard, it looks directly down the length of my home as I have nowhere else to mount them. So most motion is someone walking straight up my driveway or walking straight up the path to my patio stairs. Could you test them to see how they react to you waking straight dead on to the cameras?
I have a 2k wired Eufy door bell. I was going back and forth on adding a 2 camera system. Now, the 2C kit is $169.99. I think it's a no-brainer at this point. The 2c Pro is still $319
I'm going the same route as you, Amazon has them on sale for 169. I'm going to order it today! How do you like the eufy 2K wired doorbell? That will be my next add-on.
The differences in your video quality tests make the pro worth it. I have to say though, the video quality on your 2c pro looks a lot better than it does on mine! Might be that you have it recording an open/well-lit space, whereas mine is on a porch/door so the lighting is tricky.
Great video! Do you know if Eufy has plans on creating a 4k 2C Pro Eufy camera? Just curious as I didnt notice too much of a difference between the 2C and the 2C Pro. Thank you in advance for your response.
Took a chance and got the 2c pro 4cam as it was £150 off. Good cameras however I do still need to get them mounted (awaiting black covers and black mountings with more adjustability). Where I haven't them at the moment after 12hrs one of them is at 88% at optimal surveillance and at detection 5. It's going off constantly through the night. So at that rate I can get 180 days down to less than 5. The other one is at 98%. Neither are in their intended locations and I'll be tweaking the settings to get the best performance when they are. Ill update when they are set up and used a while as at the moment even a worms fart triggers them.
Just to add that I'm glad I went with the 4 cam rather than eufy cam 2 x2 because I've just had a test of where the back garden ones will be placed and they give a full 180° field of view which covers every part of our garden 👍😎.
Thank you for the thorough video comparison between the two, LifeHackster! I'm trying to decide between the two and this video was very helpful. Leaning towards the 2c non-pro. Are the home bases the same between the two models? Can I add a 2c pro camera to the same home base that comes with the non-pro?
Happy Holidays Hackster... thanks again for a great demonstration. I'm definitely sold on Eufy, and I have a question I can't seem to find the answer to: I'm going to install their wireless doorbell and 2-camera Pro system at some point soon (when I find a good deal). I know I can see live video from the doorbell and cameras if I'm away from home, but can I spot-check them while away if they have not been triggered? Can I enable the video feeds individually anytime I want? Thanks man!
Thanks for the great video. Just ordered the 3 pack 2C Pro setup to install at my parent's house. They will use their iPad to monitor the camera as they do not have iPhones. I assume this will work okay?
Great video as usual. Is there any way to permanently plug the Eufy cameras to keep them powered without compromising their waterproof features? Wish Eufy made an outdoor wired version of these cameras with 24/7 recording. Your videos are really helpful, keep up the good work. Thank you in advance.
I know this a year later, but Eufy has a solar panel to plug into their battery operated outdoor cameras. However, I'm not sure if that would allow 24/7 video.
Hey man, thank you for your comparison videos. Really helpful BUT could I ask you to tell me the differences between the Eufy 2 Pro and the 2c Pro? I know there's the battery life and spotlight but other than that I can't figure it out. Is the AI the same? The software? The notifications? Thanks.
you did an awesome job! as a side note i strongly suggest reviewing object detection/analyze performance (false positive alarms like turning on by a cat or an inanimate object) of both models and if possible compared to other brands and cheack chinese brand setups. thanks!
That was pretty thorough. I have a narrow back garden with lots of trespassers. It's about 5 metres wide and there are no lights at all back there. It's probably 30 metres long though. Do you think the light on the cake would be effective enough if it's the only light? It looks like it would be fine but easy to supplement if needed... Great video, very thorough! I get upset seeing reviews that are just unboxing! Thanks again.
Thank you for the great videos. I know some models of Eufycams come with Homebase 1 and some come with Homebase 2. Can you do a comparison test video, please? Thank you....
Great video, it was really helpful. Does this camera also take photo snapshots at regular intervals regardless of motion? Just like the Ring stick up battery does. It would be a good feature to know how my driveway is looking in between motion activated recording.
Makes a lot of difference to me. I'd definitely get the 2c pro. Just a side question not related to the eufy - are there any outdoor battery cameras with invisible IR lights (940nm)? I know there are a few indoor wired ones but not sure if there are any battery outdoor ones. If you know of any please do let me know! thanks
I must admit I'm not that impressed with the overall increased resolution. Doesn't seem like a bad camera but it doesn't seem to be on par with the Arlo Ultra. The Reolink Argus 3 seemed to have a better picture too. I wonder if it has something to do with the video compression issue you mentioned before. 🤔
Yes.. definitely. I talked to Eufy about this.. they need to use what Reolink uses or at least give customers a choice if they want increased bit rate and sacrifice battery life.
Have 3 of these easy to install battery lasts approx 3 months or more great quality just need to set them up properly and their great never had a false detection. If a wired system is too expensive etc these are a great compromise do the job good enough.
You make brilliant reviews, but I'd really love if you could please test the Google Assistant integration! Some companies like Arlo trick us into believing their cameras are "Google assistant compatible" but in the real world they are not (well, partially compatible, but the main feature I wanted, streaming video through a Nest hub or chromecast, is not possible...) Can the Eufy cam stream video in a nest hub?
Very informative comparison video! I am thinking of purchasing 2 floodlight cameras for my garages and a eufyCam 2C Pro Add-on Camera to cover my back yard, is the eufyCam 2C Pro Add-on Camera a stand alone or will I need the HomeBase 2.
Thanks for the quality video! I actually watched this after I purchased the Eufycam 2C Pro earlier today (arrives tomorrow). I had watched some other videos before making that selection. The 2c Pro seems a little better in all areas tested compared to the original 2C, but is it worth the extra $100? I don't know, I guess we'll find out. Since I plan to have this system for years, the extra amount of money didn't seem to bother me much and now I'll have the option as to what quality I prefer to use. I originally was in the market for the Blink outdoor camera. I checked out the Wyze outdoor camera also and almost ended up buying the Ring Stick up Cams. But, after the iffy reviews and cost of cloud related services, I decided on the Eufycam. I hope I made the right choice. =)
@@Ralfjones Hi there. I should have followed up on my reply. I sent the Eufycams back 2 days after I receive them. Too much inconsistency with motion detection and it seemed to lose connectivity with the hub far too often during my evaluation period. And I was well within the max WiFi range. Not a good thing if you want this for security purposes. I ended up going with the REOLINK H.265 4K PoE Security Camera System. At around $440 and after crawling around in my attic to run the Ethernet cables, it was well worth it. 24x7 coverage, great motion detection and picture quality, and I don't ever have to recharge them.
Hello. Great video as always, thank you! Does eufy have the outdoor camera that would constantly recording for a few days with the base or without it? I want to be able to see what was going on during the day time or at night, like my Nest outdoor camera. Thank you.
Not necessarily because the spotlight is too dim to be used as a stand alone. You do need to add more lighting/motion lighting to the area you want to monitor.
Hello boss , great video , I have a question , I’m looking to buy a cámara set because my wifey have epilepsy and she’s 8 month pregnant , I work a lot so when I’m working I want to make sure I can check on her thou the cámaras, right now they have a deal 4 cámaras with the kit for 360 dollars is the 2c my Bestfriend told me is amazing because he has the same, do you recommend this one for me ?
If you want to use it for indoors and mostly to check in with your wife, it is better to get an indoor plug in WiFi camera like the wyze cam or eufys indoor cameras. They are cheaper and more reliable than battery powered cameras.
Great video, after watching many of your comparisons I have decided to invest in the Eufy 2c. Question: is it possible to link a camera to my home base in the house from my garage which is a separate building 30mt away and if so how? I have a separate old Belkin router in the garage linked via a plug link. Thanks in anticipation John
Hey everyone, I bought the eufy cam E series 2 years ago and it's been great. The only issue is that when I went to add on I was told that they do not produce the "E" series any longer. So I would need to purchase another home base and the amount of additional cameras I wanted. Something to look into before buying this brand. Not sure if all brands are like this, but it's worth mentioning.
Would you pic the floodlight cam over this? I have looked at your other video and the resolution looks a lot better with a lot less grain. Keen to know your thoughts thanks!
I have a few Eufy 2c Pro. Recently purchases a few for my back side home. For whatever reason when the spotlight is set on. Everything at night is dark. Some say its because there's not enough light. Makes no sense. I have a 2c pro outside in another area. And when pitch black nighttime. And the night vision/spotlight is turned on. Not the best, but shows in color. Not these recent 2c pro I purchased 😢
Good video. Are you able to view the either camera from a google nest hub or echo show using just your voice? For example "alexa, show me the backyard" or "alexa show me the eufy camera " That feature would make it easier my non tech savvy wife.
Hi. Just wanted to know if Eufy sorted out that automatic spotlight on movement detection at night that you mentioned couple videos back. Do you have any information about that? Thanks.
Just got this. Since most people use their phone to view videos which for me is a 1080p screen, I'm not sure how useful the pro 2k is. I know it is a great improvement over my older Arlo system which this is replacing.
@@LifeHackster thanks for your response! Find your vids really helpful :) How do you find the video quality between the two products (Arlo Pro 4 and Eufy 2C pro) and sensitivity to motion?
Did they ever fix the 2K issue? Just got the Reolink Argus 3 Pro and the quality is amazing, but they don’t have the local storage hub like Eufy. A comparison between the Argus 3 Pro and Eufy 2C Pro would be a great comparison to help me decide if Eufy is worth it? Argus 3 Pro struggles with Alex Integration with about 16 seconds of delay. How well do Eufy battery camera’s integrate with Alexa to view the live feed through Echo shows?
