As others pointed out, the reason some of your modes didn't work is you have the dock too close, all robot vacs are programs to clean away from this, putting it in with it makes it confused.

Funny you should ask - Just ordered replacements for both. We use it almost exclusively on hardwood and tile floor. On carpet, I suspect they would need replacing more often.

I just recently began hearing about the Eufy & it's all been positive. Now I'm watching your review & I'm even more convinced. I have had another brand the past two & a half years. It's a different brand & I have had to send it in for repair twice (I'm on my second unit - they replaced the original unit). Now I am dealing with short battery life. For this reason I have decided to go with another brand. I have been doing quite a bit of research lately & believe I have located my next purchase.

The EUFY is awesome. It's only downfall is if you have lots of cords on the floor it likes to get tangled in them. It does an amazing job of cleaning my 2000sq ft house (tile floors), gathering a baseball sized ball of hair and dust and dirt every single day. Our floors literally shine.

I think the problem in the test with the dock in the corral probably was confusing it because the walls were reflecting the infra red signal from the dock.

Hi there. Thank you for the review. Great job. I’m assuming the Eufy has no mapping function? Which means it may not cover the entire floor.

Hello! Unlike higher-end rivals, the Eufy has no way to display via app where it cleaned and areas missed. However, from repeated observation, I can tell you it will vacuum every accessible inch until the battery runs low and has to return to homedock for recharging. I use it several times a week in my own home without any complaint (or sound... it is so silent!!!). Thanks for watching!

My Eufy just had it's first malfunction today after not even having it 2 months. When I press auto on the remote, it backs out of the dock, turns around, and that's it.

That box test is pointless - the dock is too close to the device - it purposely avoids the dock.

It is programmed not to clean next to the dock, so if you put it in a small area with the dock like you did it will not function properly.

No robot is perfect. My suggestion for Eufy would be to learn and make even better robots in the future. Robovac 11 was a great start.

That head to head test only proves that Eufy knows how to play defense, trap the opponent in the corner, and box out. Plus... 3 times, illegal block in the back, no flag. Why?

i have the deebot N79s, basically the starter robot sold directly by the factory contracted to build these and many others, as mentioned in several comments it doesn't clean next to the dock, and that's because it's designed to be compatible with all infrared barriers, consequently reflective items [like say, a steel trashcan] and even it's own dock, because it thinks it's running into a barrier, automode is also designed to clean until the battery is almost dead, and then return to the dock, so of course it didn't stop within the few minutes you watched it, and single room only behaves differently with more advanced models that map the area, because you're able to select the room

Poor conclusion on the modes. The dock inside extraordinarily small test box is a poor test. I’m a bit surprised it didn’t dawn on you that the flaw was actually your test.

Its flaw is that it returns to the doc autonomously only when the battery is low not when the job is done.

Less than one hour on carpet?!! Whoever makes one that works well on carpeting will get rich. Poor cleaning and does not return in all modes. Pass.

Hey thanks for watching! This robot was designed to clean bare floors and carpets of short height not unlike the high traffic carpets most offices use. I found that for the price ($219) the Robovac 11 is a good vacuum. If you are looking for a robot vacuum that will conquer carpets you may want to take a look at the Roomba 980 ($899).
