Eugen Wendel was born on December 18, 1934, in Valea Rea (today's Livezi) near Bacău in Romania. At Bucharest's Polytechnic University, he obtained a diploma for a study on the construction of recording studios. Then he studied composition at the Bucharest Conservatory with teachers like Tiberiu Olah and Aurel Stroe. He continued his career as a composer and a sound engineer when in 1974, he moved to Cologne, where he died on December 19, 2022.
