An unbelievably brilliant performance. Fodor at the top of his game.

very clean playing. and a nice touch, the pianist had a bell to play the "bell" part, instead of just hitting the F# key on the piano.

He had a sad end. Died at only 60 due to drug and alcohol abuse. Brilliant performer.

It doesn't end well for anyone, especially artists. The world despises artists.

He was killed by the world because the world despises brilliance. If you want to know the reason for his death, listen to the f****** radio station and how horrible the music they play on the radio station is. He got out of his f****** death bed, so you owe it to him to not blame his death on alcohol. Blame it on pop music, and do something about it.

He died of liver cancer probably due to hep B infection secondary to IV drug abuse.

Such a natural. You can't say that about the majority of violinists, even great ones.

Heifetz knew it. He was apt to teach students who were naturally natural. That's why Erick Friedman and Eugene had an uncanny resemblance in style.

Wow. Such a fantastic talent that was waisted early on in his life.

I'm not really a classical violinist fan or expert but I have heard about Eugene Fodor and his talents. He died relatively young and had a life-long struggle with drugs and alcohol addiction, which contributed to his death. It appears his family has a genetic predisposition to these types of physical and mental issues. One of his daughters, Lindsay, who goes by the name Daisy, is a regular on the boardwalk in Venice Beach, California, and well known for her eccentric behavior. She is an attractive well-spoken woman but appears to have significant psychological and emotional issues.

Knew him most of his life. Performed with him many times , and recorded with him. Also knew his family. I know of no familial genetic predisposition to drugs and alcohol. He threw away his career and his life pretty much on his own, with the help of an abusive father.

The best, and most missed, no one recently can play it right, not just the notes, but within the music

The Greatest. Looking for a yt upload of "March from the Love of Three Oranges," Prokokiev, which I used to have on an LP which we bought after seeing him in concert at Red Rocks with the CSO.

@@diegoaragon5292 i have a vague recollection of Eugene playing the same piece on TV (i thought on Johnny), but with no piano, just acapella. so maybe this was some other show. or maybe my memory cells are shot. either way, i love the pianist having an F# bell to ting, instead of just hitting the F# on the piano. nice touch.

Sorry to be negative, I am all for old school violinists, but he is not that good. Left hand very talented, but still not clean. But mainly not very beautiful right hand thecnique to be generous. Musically it lacks a lot of breathing room. Looks like he had a lot of talent, but the result isn't really so incredible in my opinion

As a mediocre student, I do feel his phrasing is agitated(?) no much room to breathe, his left hand is clear but not that clean. But I guess he is still really confident for sure, much better than me hah. Tbh, I kind of feel my old teacher, is playing in a similar style, which I don’t really get it sometimes, I guess it’s relate tl orchestral playing, sometimes just need to get through that many notes within the short amount of time that conductor leaves to you.

Fodor was a great talent, wonderful musician and fantastic natural violinist. You both have no idea what you’re talking about. It’s pathetic. Please get some basic knowledge of the subject matter before you opine like that and malign a great violinist.
