Best tutorial ever. The “wrong” examples and accompanying sign/ sound effects were great, but the cookie and milk, pure gold! Proper great work. It was enlightening AND entertaining. Kept my attention the entire time, and that’s what a greater teacher does: educates while keeping his/ her students engaged. Not realizing one is learning, because one is having fun. Just brilliant. Thank you so much for sharing your time and wisdom. 🍻

This is so cool.. I started to learn heel-toe single technique three months ago (wanja gröger a.k.a. morganvanhelsing on RU-vid "taught" me :D). A month ago I couldn't do 170 bpm for 10 minutes, now I can do 190 for 10 minutes and 180 for 30 minutes. Now when I practise I start daily with 150 bpm 10 minutes, 160 bpm 10 minutes, 170 bpm 20 minutes and then 180 30 minutes. After that today I did 3x1 minute 190 bpm (rested for a while in-between) and then could do 10 min 190 bpm for the first time. What did I learn? It Doesn't Matter if you don't see "visible" progress every day - what you Can see is that you'll be able to play cleaner and "easier" and with less tenseness and louder with the familiar tempos. At first, though, I just spent hours and hours watching my feet (either right of left, playing with one foot at a time) and tried to make it look and feel and sound sensible when first learning the heel-toe single technique. I hope this helps someone. This video is all True. Thank you!

Who could not like this video? This video was a discovery for me. I had no motivation and I didn't know how to play double pedal properly. Eugene made me change my mind about those issues. The Swivel technique is my approach because of this tutorial and I love it! Thanks a lot, Eugene!!!

Dude, this is by far the best video I've seen on real uses. Where to sit on the throne is a huge thing that a lot of people dont cover! I also REALLY appreciate how you say that one will need a good attitude and how it will take time and all that. Such a great attitude like many have already said. Got my subscription is well!

I've been watching this videos since I bought my edrums, gotta say, it helped. The swivel technique is still impossible for me. But when I play fast, I feel my legs shaking so I guess it's a begin! I play everyday for 2h, I think it's pretty good. Thank you for these tutorials. I bet you helped lots of people!

hey, that was helpful :) Im 16 and playing for basically my whole life now and since 3 years also double bass because i started loving metal more and more. But i can only do fast double time passages for around 4-6 hits maybe, so just one brr and thats it. My stable double bass tempo is around 140-150 right now. I will update on this comment ;)

Hey man. Thank you for your opening on this lesson. You are right on with your thoughts on how drummers approach learning new techniques. I hear it all the the time in my profession as a Head Tennis instructor. Not wanting to commit to regular practise yet complaining each week why they don't improve and spending money on lessons for what??????? No shortcuts or quick tips to help you learn fast. Only dedicated, consistent, focused and intense practise regularly will get the results you want. I learned a lot in this lesson. Your double bass drum pedal speed is very impressive. Watched this 2 months ago when I got my first double pedal and now I'm playing 180BPM for extended time periods. This video was really helpful, but i think it's best to practice songs instead of exercises.

I'm definitely gonna try this out I actually have my pedals a bit low so I thought it would be easier on me and I did not know if u had ur pedal up higher it would cause more momentum for ur feet to actually go faster just by giving it a little tap thx for the info ^^
