Do you think you can cover euphorbia abdelkuri? I ask because there are barely any videos with care info for them and I wish to know how to properly care for mine. You're putting out great stuff man, keep it up!
Hi mate, yes I’ll definitely do a video at some point - where I am, mine is currently dormant though so not a great time for it. In the meantime if you have any questions just fire away and I’ll gladly do my best to answer them.
Do you know if they need light to germinate or a good topdressing is bether? Not much written online... I did watch your video also ^^ but I am so used to cacti, that topdressing seeds feelsbad ^^ do you think it will work in incubator or is it to much humidity? All my tents are set up with incubators... And only a few free spaces left 🤔
Top dressing has always worked better for me with Euphorbias - they don’t need light to germinate. And humidity, totally okay - they love it as seedlings.
Hello mate :) How fresh was the francoisii seed you have germinated before? and how was your germination rates? I got 20 seeds 2-6 months old and no germination so far after one week, seeds came in pale grey colour to almost black in colour. i keep it 28c for 17 hours, nights are 22c. i now try to spray daily, if germination inhibitors are the problem. Seller are trustworthy with dates on seeds so far, but maybe not on these... I try to test it out, and then i want to order a lot more seeds, becouse they are pricey, so want to test if they germinate ^^ pretty annoying i havent had any luck so far...I am good at cacti, but have no xperience with Euphorbia... Best regards
Your setup sounds good, and those seeds should still be viable. Give it another week or two - I wouldn’t give up on them yet, pretty common for seeds to need more than a week.
@@AridZine That is crazy, here in EU they recommend not below 15c, but i was looking on temps in madagaskar and couldent understand it either, becouse it will go lower than 15c. How long do you keep them dry at most? and thank you mate :)
Does the cross breeding of these look the same as the other euphorbias? I don't want to make any assumptions! Also, what kinds of issues can occur to the caudex portion of the plants?
Similar, yes - but the flower structure is more complex. The flowers begin as female and then after about a week or so lose their female bits and become male. So timing becomes more of an issue. I still haven’t quite mastered it. As for the caudex - it’s essentially just a fat root so root rot etc are the usual culprits.
@@AridZine Is there any way to induce a one of the plants to flower sooner? Or preserve the pollen from before? It sounds a bit like a cosmic joke on plants.
Hello mate, i found 20 fresh seeds of Euphorbia francoisii, do you have any xperience with seed growing these? Before i blow them all out :p Best regards ^^
Hi mate, check out my recent seed sowing video - this shows the exact method I’ve used for growing Euphorbia francoisii from seed several times in the past.
