Eurasian Eagle Owl in Norfolk, UK
What an absolute treat this is, being able to see this owl in woodland close by to me. An incredible sight.
It’s thought he’s an escapee from Europe. I’m protecting him, by not revealing his location.
Please share this video.
Thank you for watching.

@@NewnameSameme Seen them in captivity but never free to come and go as they please. Actually handled one at a Hawk Conservancy and the grip of those talons is incredible. Good job you keep Bertie inside.

Yes that owl is bigger than Bertie! The owl isn’t near me (yet) luckily. You’re braver than me holding one. 🦉

Wow Lisa that's a huge owl, but what a stunning creature, he's in the right place really if he eats ducks, he's just magnificent, i think you are right to keep it under your hat about his location, we had green parrots in our local park for a couple of years now, apparently they are nation wide now, there was a flock of them, they were really pretty but noisy, I think there are quite a number of escapee's in GB at the moment of different species, including a black panther spotted in Cheshire which is not too far from me, but I don't want to bump into that, thanks for filming him Lisa 🐲🐦🌞🌞👍

Yikes !! A black Panther ! 😱😱😱 Imagine that visiting your garden! Things do escape occasionally. Initially, I thought perhaps the owl 🦉 was from a local Wildlife Place but it seems those in the known , think it’s flown over from Holland.

That is quite a 'tick' for any 'birder' to see, but I'm glad you've kept the owl's location to yourself. I remember in June last year, a small flock of Bee-eaters had taken up residence in Southtown (Gt. Yarmouth). Unfortunately, they were soon driven away by over enthusiastic bird watchers. Wonderful pictures by the way, he or she doesn't look in the least bit bothered by your presence, but then there aren't really many predators in the UK he needs to fear. I saw a little flock of migrant 'snow buntings' on the marshes near me, just a couple of days ago, not remotely as spectacular as an Eagle Owl, but still nice to see all the same... 😊

Thank you Andy. I remember the bee eaters but never went looking. I’m not sure if I’ve seen snow buntings but I don’t think so.

Some really great footage of a rare visitor to our shores. It`s not unusual to have these magnificent creatures visiting our shores. I`ve seen several pictures of these Owls on the Broads. They have quite often diverted to our shores, and are a magnificent sight.

The continental birds are usually wild ones. They're not popular in many parts of Europe because they will predate people's cats and even small dogs.

Thank you. I just went by what the newspaper said. I believe they got their information from the Hawk and Owl Trust. It’s a magnificent owl.

It doesn’t want to be caught, I was asked by a local owl centre to try to capture it last year. It isn’t bothering anyone so left alone. I fly my birds of prey close by for business, we have 20 owls ourselves as well as hawks, falcons and eagles 🦅, lovely video 👌

I’m sure a lot of these are escapees from people having them , and they have breed in the uk on a military firing range , there’s currently one at fastlane naval base in Scotland which is an escapee it’s loving live there with an abundance of rabbits , and workers feeding it steak and other goods , it’s owner was allowed to go and get it back but it escaped again and went back there 😂I hope it finds a breading partner and they become widespread in the uk , they do fall victim to power lines and obstacles quite often and get killed but there awesome birds ❤
@NewnameSameme

They are stunning. I’ve not heard anything about this owl for months so guessing it has moved on. Make the most of it while it’s there as you never know when it may move on next. Thank you for watching, Happy New Year 🎆🎊
