it's crazy like people don't love this anime that much, but some hardcore fans like you n me is really into it. Like I could feel the weight of you saying rest in peace, even they are not in this reality.
@Homie Bret Eh, it's too corny, as is the delivery in most cases. Eureka 7 had a couple of good voice actors but most of the cast under delivered. Add on sort of wonky translations, especially for longer sentences, and combine it all with Eureka 7's strange world building and you get a very weird end product. It works much better in the sub than the dub, but it's still a clunky "quote" from an in universe character. I feel some creative license should be used in these cases. It could be something more along the lines of English phrasing and thinking, such as, "You have to achieve everything yourself without begging." Now, weather or not that fits with what the author was trying to convey is another matter. Now, as a counterpoint to my own thought, I see it similarly to the phrase Kamina shouted in Gurren Lagann, also from around the time Eureka came out. In the official sub, Kamina says, "Reject common sense to make the impossible possible." However, some fan subs having him saying, "Go beyond the impossible and kick reason to the curb." One would argue this might fit more in line with his character but it's stupid IMO. (How would he know what a curb is?). What is the right answer? Well I obviously have my own biases, but my point is, translation kind of sucked back then.
at some point of an episode there is also a King Crimson reference but it seems no one has ever taken notice, meanwhile everyone is only thinking about JoJo
"Get it by your hands" refers to they saying frequently quoted in the first series," Don't beg for things. Go get it yourself. Otherwise you won't get anything." A great saying in my eyes. Basically it's saying to reach your goals by your own means and not someone else's. Everything is much more gratifying when you do it yourself.
eurenton99 funny how the polish translation states something completely different! translating back... "Don't beg, but conquer. That way You'll achieve Your goal." sounds a little... more harsh than it sounds in polish tho, so i must've screwed something up.

2005 and 2006 was my golden years, i had best social life, best grades (i was even able to understand more than what we were learning) and best mood. and right after that hello 2007; worst year ever and even worse; 2008-9-10 2010-13 was not bad my high school years were fine but i was not the old me, passive, asocial, timid (thank you 2007-9) I started to get better after 2016 summer and finally now i feel like I'm almost as same as 12 years ago; mentally and phsichologically; it all thanks to this anime; 'the melody that you hum helps you remember, in your dreams everything just shines, NOW REMEMBER, hold on to those fragmants of hope..........etc BEST ANİME EVER not just its good; it helped me to get over my bad times :,) i wish i had watched this back in 2006 but im fine i watched it in a perfect time; its like a message from my old-self
@@reaper78541 i listen to this doing well over the speed limit when the road is empty at night or in the early morning- in fact i only found this song cuz it was used in a jtrance compilation for tuner cars, namely the part where they race the top secret v12 supra at 320+kph on the wangan :)
Charles and Ray could have been such awesome people had they simply let go of their obsessions. But Ray just had to have her vengeance, Charles just had to settle his score. They couldn't discard their own feelings, their own vendettas, for the sake of peace, for Renton, or for their own well being. Let's learn from this, and remember to set aside our own hate. Let's remember to swallow our pride, and try to be better people. Merciful people. Loving people. For Charles, for Ray, for our planet, for our future, for those we love, and for ourselves. -Alex Mercer
It was the nature of former SOF members....they care about their goals only......Holland could also avoid killing him....but couldn't for being the same as well.....
Yeah, but it is those emotions of anger and pride that allow us to empathize with them. It is exactly because of those flaws that we can remember them so fondly. Because those are the traits that made them more human to us.
I rented an R34 GTR and played this non-stop as I drove with other local street racers on Wangan and C1-loop in Tokyo. All night until the sun came up. One of the best things I've ever done. Love this track.
Listening to this reminds me of just how much the creators of this show were influenced by house music. KLF and LFO are both references to house musicians, and there are loads of other references to music in the series, not just house (Ray and Charles, for example). Eureka 7 was such an amazing anime; I need to watch it again.
+Selina Aguilar Recently rewatched this anime after.. I dunno, quite some years ago. I remembered this as a very nice anime, but I was absolutely baffled how really great it was as I rediscovered the series. So much things I haven't realized back then. So much references and life lessons that I didn't understood as a young adult, which I now do understand a bit more. The use of music & sound effects, the actual soundtrack itself, characters with their very diverse background, the art, the directing.. And I am sure the next time I will watch it (with some years passing), I'll spot even more things. The makers really have outdone themselves and put so much thought in things :D
“Freedom is something you have to fight for, rather than something you’re given. Being free means being prepared to carry that burden.” - Charles Beams. Get it by your hands 2020
Every time someone tells you to stop fighting, to enjoy your freedom, remember this. It's earned, it's not given. No rights are gained without violence, and none are kept without violence.
+Jawuan Hart this song is what you really would need to race the shit out of the lambo at an empty highway: Lazerhawk - Overdrive , check the whole album, even the cover says "put me in your car and slam the gas pedal"
I just finished the story arc with Charles and Ray. That whole story arc encompassed such a wide range of emotions, and I think it encapsulates the essence of Eureka Seven, from all I've seen.
*SPOILERS* I think the episodes where they're at the beach and Eureka is undergoing that metamorphoses is the best part of the series, since it tests the patience of both the partners and their willingness to tell each other everything that goes on.
What’s interesting is that in the 2009 movie, he and Ray might be his parents. Although they’re not named or seen, it’s likely since Renton doesn’t have a grandfather or sister in that universe/timeline/reality, but appear with different names.
@@fernandorosales599 I mean Renton has a shocking resemblance to Charles. Sure, Adroc looks more like Renton, but Charles could definitely pass off as Renton's dad.
I first saw this when my parents got decent tv channels including Animax. Eureka 7 was the first anime I saw and the only one that has stuck. Almost 15 years later and I still cant get over it.
one of my first too, back on late night adult swim early 2000s as a kid. Way for us to set the bar impossibly high huh? Always thought there would be more that would be just as good but it still is in a league of it's own
Every time i listen to that song, no matter how much years it has been since I've seen that show for the first time, i'm still haunted by Holland yelling "Charleeeeees" during their fight. So powerful.
This piece always give me the helpless feeling that "You can only GET IT BY YOUR HANDS, no one else can help you. Yet, you can never reach it on your own." I can't tell if the music itself is giving me the vibe or something else interfered because where they put this music in the anime is also an extremely depressing moment.
I had the privilege of snowboarding down a mountain a few days ago, I was blaring this on a portable speaker as loud as I could while I came down the mountain.
Love how this anime has a killer atmospheric house/techno track, usually you have to dig deep into the record crates for a track as out of this world like this.
2019 and I'm still jamming to this bass. A few years ago I was hanging out by the camp fire with some friends who don't like electronic music and I played this track. After a bit of it playing, people got quiet and just grooved along with it. At the end of the track one of my friends, apparently stunned from the tune, simply said "...wow". Nuff said. Excellent music
This song just makes me remember Ray and Charles so much, both in a happy and sad way. And then if you add Ray's single tone humming to it, it just becomes sad, unsettling, depressing, dark...
this song and a few others are throwbacks to the summer of love (which really existed people.) look it up the whole show is about it . this acid/techno style made me interested in the whole music genre. everything from names and things gave me chills when i looked up why the naming of the machines all felt so recognizable. they are the instruments that made the acidhouse and technostyle. for me this changed my view of what electric music was. this was my saviour in terms of my life now. still listen to the acid/techno/trance songs every once in a while. specially when im high
You mention that the event was real, and after a quick google search, holy crap that explains SO MUCH about the way the story plays out, the characters, just EVERYTHING.
Still come back to this song every so often. Reminds me what kicked anime watching off for me and those care free days in middle school during the mid 2000's, we'd rush home to watch this and there was no bigger priority.
I just finished watching Eureka seven for the third time and I can't get enough, especially when this song comes on. I want to know more, like what happened to the Gekko state and the crew, and does Eureka and Renton ever comes back to see their kids. So much more can be done for future installments.
Israel Anguiano AO? I don't know, but I did watch the movie which blew my mind how they changed the original series. I did enjoy, like how they ended it. It would have been real cool if they had tied the movie with the series in that Renton and Eureka would have meet their kids and grandpa at the hill side. That would of been a killer ending.
***** i do agree it was confusing. Renton in the military and the crew of the Gekkostate was not who they say they were, but the ending was cool except with Eureka being a blank sheet of paper. weird.
Bookmarked this as one of my favorite songs, absolutely love this jam ! This track goes so well with so many things notably timelapse of events or extended fast action just like they majestically used it for the final moments of Charles & Ray. I think those 2 deserved a better fate. Now I can't get it outta my mind lol, it's the kind of song that gets stuck playing in my brain all day long for who knows how long 😂
Such an unbelievable track. Glad to have been from an era where such great EDM music was commonplace, not to mention it's appearance in one of the greatest anime of all time. The love story portrayed was unreal and executed perfectly. Thanks for the upload!
Amazing that this anime and it's beautiful story has spawned such important thoughts in all of us. So much truth in every episode, and seeing the discussions on random youtube videos here, i'm so glad we are all still making unique interpretations..
