I don't need to disrupt your beautiful memories but since the Euro tournament was expanded to 24 teams in 2016 (it equals to half of the national teams in UEFA which consist of many political subdivisions like UK nations, and micro states like San Marino, Andora, Faro Islands...etc), qualifying for Euros is no longer seen as an achievement. The 16 teams format had a brutal qualifications similar to the World Cup qualifications which UEFA have 13.5 seats. I just don't like the 24 teams format where even the third team in the group passes to the knockout phase.
