I agree with Adrian, with all due respect to Southgate, who's probably a wonderful person, England's been hugely undeperforming. A poor group stage performance with 1 win(1 goal margin) against the likes of Serbia, Denmark and Slovenia. Serbia outplayed England in the 2nd half and Denmark was better in that game too. Then against Slovakia a last min(second?) saver.... Switzerland is not a world beating team, a win only in penalties and a Dutch team without their 3 best players from the midfield. England would've been massacred on the Spanish side of the draw.
Good preview, lads. Zero nonsense about 'destiny' or anyone's name being on it. I share Miguel's vision. England looked shot to me in the second half against the Dutch, and taking that into a game against a very fluent Spanish team is far from ideal. It's a game of ball and anything can happen etc, but I think this could be comfortable for Spain. We'll see.
For the good of football Spain have to win this. We cant have an international tournament where a team as dreadful as England go off and win it. Take Rodri at 5-1 for player of the tournament instead of the Spain win. If Spain win I think UEFA give him the POTT and Yamal is the young player rather than Yamal wins both.
Also you may not even need Spain to win. There isnt a single England player that has a claim on POTT and you could have a situation like Griezman in 2016 when he won it although France lost the final.
