He actually reminds me a bit of Rooney as an 18 yr old. As in he's a boy in a man's body. Not as fancy, but in build, and mentality. He's confident in his abilities. He knows his limits but keeps trying to improve and add more his game. As a united fan who went to every game in the youth Cup run that Mainoo and Garnacho won, I couldn't be happier for the kid. Spain are going to give England a life lesson on the football pitch. A meritocracy is better than status quo. Game after game England put out its second tier favored sons lineup and have acted as if their miscalculations are masterstrokes of genius. Let's see if they screw around in the final. Comebacks in finals are very difficult.

Kluivert was one of the best strikers in his generation. The Dutch had always produced great goal scorers. I agree with him that every national team or good football team needs a Number 9. Today’s game has more money but less goals scorers on the teams.
Damn, Charisteas still looks in great shape. As a teen in 2004 I hated Greece so much for winning, I grew up around a lot of Greeks and had to hear it from them all day and night… but as I got older, I realize how special of an achievement that was. The irony. I can assure you that any team England faced at these Euros will have been relieved that player that dominated the last Euros with his breath-taking performances for England was not on England's team sheet and so we have played games in which not one team we faced feared our attack at any point in our matches, before and after our substitutions. Every team has faced our attacks before and after substitutions with an air of calm and confidence in this Euros, but did not have the attacking weapons to harm us. In Spain, we have a different challenge because this team does have the attacking weapons to harm us, so if their defense too deals with our attack calmly, the result is likely to be very different. Things don't look good, but it's a final so let's just watch and pray for an England win. But I think the Sterling clones Spain has brought into their teams having seen the effectiveness and multitude of weapons a dribbling, speedy, high scoring and assist providing winger gives you in a normal attack or counter attack is going to be the difference. This new style of winger created by Pep and Sterling using Sterling's qualities has just too many weapons to defend against and to have them on both wings as Spain do and England could have had and were terrifyingly expected by other countries to do with Sterling and Saka when Saka improved to the level he is today, is going to be a very haunting challenge to deal with. Sterling should become like Mbappe and when the pundits speak negatively about him be bold enough to say, 'I do not have time for idiots and what they right and say about me. Have you seen my record? Have you forgotten about what I did for the team in those Euros, what did they achieve for the national team. Sterling in not daring say such a thing and his club and national managers to not say it for him makes the media see him as someone they can bully and England are now left facing a Spain team with 2 Sterling clones ready to terrorise our defense while we have the real thing that would have terrorised their defense watching the game on TV left behind. What is worrying is that unlike Pep with Sterling, this Spain manager unleashes these wingers to do maximum damage with their variety of weapons without restraint, be they going down the wing, cutting into the inside, slicing through the middle with their dribbling or hitting you on the counter attack. He does not hold them back as Pep likes to do to some extent and we've seen the results. Straight wins all competition. Still I think it will be a close game if England's defense holds strong and if it is close, England could win 1-0, though they will need to be an attacking threat as well as being strong in defense, defense alone will not be strong enough to do it as we have seen in the past. But that Sterling style relentless pressure with a variety of weapons makes it difficult to defend against with one Sterling clone and Spain has 2 of them. For England, I think this is going to be Foden's game as his partnership with Mainoo becomes more potent. Peace and love

Clarence was one of the best Dutch players ever and that is huge praise and a true superstar of world footy of his generation. A Figo type of player for Dutch or a Hagi in his influence. Its who comes out confident and incisive on the day. Play Toney up front and start Kane but freshen it up at 55 minutes. Rdamsdale in goal is preferable to Pickford and Saka as wing back, Rice has been amazing but they have a tough organised team in Spain. I think Spain will win as theres too much pressure on England and Lineker is too critical.

Seedorf made me realize, even if you speak perfect English, you are somehow seen as a more elite player if you never played in the Premier League: Ronaldo, Zidane, Messi, Pirlo, Ronaldinho, Iniesta, Xavi, Maldini, Totti etc. and now Mbappe, Bellingham I don't know what it is, but playing in Premier League makes you more familiar to so many more people in the world and that makes you less scary and less prestigious, I think.

@william_marshal In my opinion King Otto is the greatest coach ever. He never gets the credit he deserves. He is right up there. Yes his teams didn't play what is called attractive football. But they were effective, played as a unit , and more importantly, won matches, tournaments and leagues. Even more impressive, is that he did it with players who were not stars at all, whether Werder Bremen or Greece. King Otto the legend!

Harry kane may not have played the best this euros but his ability to finish in box will be crucial for a england win. Spain not great at stopping headers as most defenders are short and many gaps exist. kane will be the man for that 👌
