Euro NCAP | Renault Modus | 2004 | Crash test 

Not gonna lie, I brought a 1.4 16v modus and must say its fantastic! Drives very well, extremely nippy for a 1.4! And has amazing features for its monies worth!! Touch wood it has 54,000 on the clock with a full service history and the only thing other then a puncher and a blown brake light bulb (normal wear n tear) is a damaged rear spring (but I do live in Worcestershire where the roads have been shit of late and they have been relaying them with them loose chippings Tarmac stuff :-/ )

@04smallmj but a Saxo is a 1995's project. It's a difference with almost 10 years from a Modus. I have a 2001 Saxo and unfortunately i had a lateral collision from passenger side, two years ago. Fortunately the car was repaired and rides well actually, and mainly, i was alone in that day. No one was (physically) injured.

I have the 2008 Grand Modus with security pack that includes 6 airbags, Eletronic Stability Control (ESP) and Traction Control System (TCS)

ill admit renault make safe cars, they do really well in NCAP tests but reliability is a WHOLE different matter

I have owned a kangoo and a modus and apart from some small electrical problems I have had no reliability problems. There are worse makes out there according to studies not just personal taste. How many renaults have you owned?

None personally 2 in my immediate family my brother and sister both have had a K reg Clio 1.4 RT mechanically they were actually OK but the electrics were a nightmare My uncle has two Renault 11 (going back a while) both which had major engine failures, he also had a Renault Chamade (Renault 19 with a boot) it had a gearbox failure, 2 engine failures and a fusebox set caught fire My friend has had a Clio R reg 1.2 that a starter motor fail at only 40,000 miles, wheel bearing fail, tbc.....

they only failed at 50,000 making an almighty noise until they were replaced, then finally the engine mounting broke nearly causing an accident! Another friend has a Megane V reg it has had in 8 months: All wheel bearings replaced, new dash display, new wiring in the engine bay, driveshafts replaced, steering rack repaired, power steering fluid reservoir replaced the car has 64,000 miles on the clock Im not saying that EVERY renault on the road is bad its just the ones Ive seen have are bad
